Easy webservers and application monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
NewRelic is very easy to install on Ubuntu systems, only a view simple steps are required. The NR client is very stable and in my experience it never stopped working. While I'm using the free version, NR helps me to identify problems an all my servers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't use NR for PHP application monitoring, because the reported memory usage isn't correct if you use PHP-FPM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The server monitoring is great, I'm always informed about the status of my server status and NR has helped me several times to locate the problem.

Very good service monitoring

It has extensive monitoring for servers & applications. Especially the monitoring of errors is very good & usefull.

Easy to use and install
Super easy to launch and install. I would recommend it if you would like to get your AWS stats into New Relic quick and easily.
Simple, easy to install, and provides a lot of insight
This same AMI/Application supports all of the AWS plugins that NewRelic offers, SQS, SNS, EC2, ELB, RDS... My only complaint is that you HAVE to input your credentials directly into the user data, it won't take an EC2 Role.
Almost perfect
It is almost perfect. It was so easy to launch but then the instructions about setting user data didn't match with what I could see and ultimately I had to spend an hour finding where to add my config (AWS keys and New Relic key.)
If the instructions were updated, OR even better, if there was a config.sh script you could just run if you were forced to ssh in then this would have 5 stars.
Easy to get up and running
As long as the steps are followed, this is a super easy setup to get up and running. I mainly used the AMI for monitoring out RDS instance. The not so good thing was that I had to recreate the instance twice because I had the wrong configuration. This was a little annoying as I had to destroy and recreate the instance but once you have the knack it's an easy process.
