Powerful software, expensive and getting a little dated.

  • August 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simulink has a suite of powerful analysis tools, especially for controls.
What do you dislike about the product?
Simulink is very hard to use, everything is a black box (no open-source), and it's way too expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dynamic simulations and analysis

Useful and robust interface

  • July 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The graphical interface in it. Which make it easier to point out where the problem might have occurred.
And also it's integration with the Matlab.
Because of its interface it's easy to learn and use the libraries.
What do you dislike about the product?
The c++ code simulink generates are not very efficient. I always have to refine the code later on.
Also, I would like if would be multithreaded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Giving me more control over inputs easily.
2. Make complex problem easy to represent using blocks.

What do you like best about the product?
It's gives us an assistance to simulate our designed system via mathathical calculation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I confronted an issue of step sizes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I design any system theoritically, I use simulink to verfy its stability and the other claims I made.

Ease of use
Easy to learn
Great modelling capabilities
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot of learning resources available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thermal, easy to demonstrate intricate details of the model

the best circuit designer

  • June 04, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the best thing I like about Simulink is the ease of code. the code used to design the programme is almost similar to Matlab and can easily be captured and learned.
What do you dislike about the product?
the thing I dislike simulink is UI. The user interface for error identification is not good. we find it difficult to find the error in the code. This should be like Matlab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that Simulink is solving is the automated solution of the problem. I just type the code and the end product solution is generated. This benefitted me in solving a lot of assignments

Wide range of uses but lacks real-time capabilities.

  • May 19, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simulink is highly versatile and caters to businesses working on diverse projects, such as ours; it also offers specific toolboxes for specialized applications. It is widely known for its seamless integration with MATLAB; it has also allowed our business to leverage MATLAB's extensive mathematical and analytical capabilities within Simulink models, enabling advanced simulations and analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Simulink provides real-time simulation capabilities, businesses like ours with specific real-time requirements or high-performance computing needs may find the built-in capabilities limited. There are compatibility and integration challenges; Integrating simulink with other software tools or existing IT infrastructure may require additional effort. Hence, compatibility issues or the need for custom interfaces can arise, especially when integrating simulink with external software, hardware or proprietary systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Model-based development allows our company to create executable models that serve as a single source of truth for system designs and requirements. From a business standpoint, this approach has benefitted our company by enhancing collaboration and documentation and simplifying translation from design to implementation.

Create, design and simulate

  • May 03, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How useful and the multiple tools it gives it presents to you to simulate circuits and plc, so it saves a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires a minimum process capacity (especially ram) from the computer, so, sometimes, based on the use, it can be a little bit slow, or it will close if your computer is not good enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to prove the behavior of plc circuits before implementing it in real life

Simulink is an expensive but useful tool.

  • January 15, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
Get fast and reliable results without knowing math equations. cope interface is familiar to engineers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scope zoom may be more flexible: gradually changing value and time scale.
The list of existing asynchronous motors was beneficial but does not exist in the new version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am an engineer, and my problems are technical. Simulink simulation permits achieving a result without full physical simulation.

An amazing block diagram environment for modeling, simulation and analysis.

  • May 11, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simulink is the best block diagram environment for modelling, simulation and analysis of various systems. The things that I like about Simulink are as follows:
1) It is very easy to learn and a user-friendly tool. It is easy to set up the required parameters and variables for the simulation.
2) It is integrated with MATLAB, which is also an excellent tool for data analysis. Simulink helps us to visualize the systems that we analyse. MATLAB and Simulink can be used with each other.
3) A huge amount of support material and tutorials are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Simulink is the best available block diagram environment for the analysis of multidomain systems. However, I find some drawbacks which are as follows:
1) My system slows down a lot while using Simulink and MATLAB.
2) There have been some instances where the Simulink crashed down and I had to lose the data.
3) I feel that using Simulink alone is easy, but integrating it with MATLAB seemed difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Simulink tool can be used in many domains of design and analysis. However, I have been using it in the design and analysis of communication systems. There are a lot of models and blocks available in Simulink for this purpose which are really very helpful. The use of blocks to create the systems is of great help in visualising and understanding the concepts. It also has numerous options for plotting and analysis of the graphs. I have used Simulink a lot in my academic and related activities and projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Simulink to all those who are looking for a block diagram environment to carry out simulations and analyses of multidomain systems. It is very easy to use with a lot of support available. It helps a lot in visualizing the systems that are designed.
