What do you like best?
It was easy to setup a flow, and very userfriendly
What do you dislike?
It requires a lot of security (rights), which takes a lot of time to find in the admin guide.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
It was a test of replicating from SAP HANA to SQL. Worked without problems

Great tool for Divestitures and Carve out Projects

  • October 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
It is the equivalent of the "scalpel for a surgeon" since it provides an efficient way to extract only the data related to your organizational structure (company codes, plants, sales organizations, etc.) you want to carve out from your SAP environment. Plus you can hire the "surgeon" services by hiring Qlik.
What do you dislike?
It is not an end user tool. At least you want to train your personnel to be the "surgeon" for Qlik Replicate.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use this tool for carve out projects mainly since it provides an easy way to extract data related to a specific business (group of company codes and plants). It is a very clean and affordable way to replicate in a new SAP environment to be shipped with the rest of the assets to the buyer.

What do you like best?
GUI and plug and play. components. Alerting monitoring
What do you dislike?
Did not scaleup for higher workloads .
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
we have just piloted for few customers .
Recommendations to others considering the product:
overall good product for reasonable work loads

Attunity with SAP ECC

  • October 08, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
The best thing is the implementation speed. It is very easy to install and make the product up-and-running. Also, the UI is very user friendly and self explanatory.
Once you have the configuration done on the backend database and on SAP Application layer, it is pretty straight forward to start replicating data.
What do you dislike?
There are still quite a few bugs in the tool, either depending on the particular system connected, or more like a design problem. Then it comes to support, I unfortunately cannot give 100/100 marks to the support. Simply because the problems are not well addressed, lack of documentation and the Knowledge base is not rich enough for a tool that's in the market for such long time. Hopefully Qlik will improve this.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
When it comes to extracting data from SAP ECC at table level, it is never an easy task. moreover, if your organization has more lots of SAP instances and lots of data, RFC method does not meet the requirements. Therefore, a full load and CDC is the only way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please run through a very precise POC, since your particular system can be customized which might not be out-of-the-box. Overall, we're happy with our choice.

Excellent Product

  • October 06, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
It enables us to transform data at the latest stage rather than in ETL loads, so it's more ELT which is one of the advantages. It is also in near real-time, which brings significant advantage for our embedded analytics approach.
What do you dislike?
Support-wise, this solution is in need of improvement.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
- centralization of several databases, data streaming.
- Load reduction: Keeping a complete or partial copy of a collection on a different
server reduces the load on the main server.
- Improved service: Accessing a copy of the data can provide better service to
users than having them access the original data.
- Restricted data access: If some users should only have access to a subset of
data, replicating only part of a collection makes it easy to enforce security
restrictions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
the technique used for replication, ease of use, transformation options, multiple destinations (targets), and origins (source) or Perhaps the form of licensing by the database core is bad, easy to use.
Integrity: The target data must reflect the complete result of all changes made to
the source data during the replication process.
Consistency: If a change affects different tables, rows, or files, the copy must
reflect these changes consistently across all affected tables, rows, or files.
Latency: The replication process must aim at keeping latency at a minimum.
Ideally, it should not exceed a few seconds.

DBA

What do you like best?
Easy to use web interface that allows easy set up and control tasks. Allows us to offload some work from our main server. You can easily reload tables with a click of a button. Can create multiple tasks and group tables together by functionality if you desire. You also have the ability to add filters to filter data and/or add some global calculated columns to your destination tables. Inside each task you can set the load order priority on a table so it can be loaded right away, or towards the end of the task.
What do you dislike?
Have to make sure you use the correct browser so some features work better. Also it would be nice to be able to schedule multiple destinations under a task in which you could then have those tables refresh on different scheduled intervals as well. When reloading a task it will truncate all the tables then reload them so you could have some time with several tables empty. It would be nice if it would only truncate the table right before it began loading.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Replicating off of Oracle to SQL server. Allows us to take extra load off our source server.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We found creating multiple tasks to be more beneficial then having one tasks with every table in it. This way if you do have to reload or a task fatal errors for a reason not all your tables get truncated on reload. Also setting the table load priority on more important tables is really nice option to get the tables you want loaded first, done first.

Its definitely one of the beset tool in market. Replicating data from databases is much easier and simpler
What do you dislike?
1. saleforce/case site
2. Bugs - several bugs which are hard to find
3. very frequent patches - probably due to several bug fixes
4. Poor Testing on new patches
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Replicating data from several DB's. Moving data from various sources to target databases.

Very nice product

  • September 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
the technique used for replication , ease of use , transformation options , multiple
destinations ( targets ) and origins ( source ) .
Load data efficiently and quickly to operational data stores / warehouses .
Create copies of production endpoints .
Distribute data across endpoints .
Full Load Replication: Creates files or tables at the target endpoint, automatically
defines the metadata that is required at the target, and populates the tables with
data from the source
Change Processing, also called Change Data Capture (CDC): Captures changes in
the source data or metadata as they occur and applies them to the target endpoint
as soon as possible in near-real time
Replication is log based, which means that it reads only the changes. This reduces
the impact on the source endpoints.
What do you dislike?
I have nothing I don't like. maybe have a few more database options like Adabas .
Perhaps the form of licensing by the database core is bad idea for me .
Replicate does not support replication of Primary Keys that are LOB data types.
When replicating a table which has no Primary Key on the source endpoint, LOB
columns are removed from the table at the target endpoint as no Unique Index
column is created in the source table.
When the Limit LOB size to option is enabled, replication of structured data LOBs (e.g. XML, JSON, IMAGE, etc.) may truncate (and thereby invalidate) the structured data in the target LOB.
In Batch Optimized Apply mode, if the target table has more columns than the
source table, any values in the extra columns will be replaced with NULL.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
centralization of several databases , data streaming.
Load reduction: Keeping a complete or partial copy of a collection on a different
server reduces the load on the main server.
Improved service: Accessing a copy of the data can provide better service to
users than having them access the original data..
Restricted data access: If some users should only have access to a subset of
data, replicating only part of a collection makes it easy to enforce security
restrictions.
Geographic distribution: Making only a subset of data relevant to a specific node
(or location) available is beneficial in widely distributed enterprises (such as a chain
of retail stores or warehouses). You can still make all data available at a central
location for less frequent use.
Disaster Recovery: Keeping a copy of the main data available allows for setting
up rapid fail-over clusters (the capability to switch over to a redundant or standby
computer server in case the main system fails).
"Cloud" computing: Replicating data allows for implementing what is commonly
known as cloud computing (the on-demand storage, management, and processing
of Internet-based data).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
the technique used for replication, ease of use, transformation options, multiple destinations (targets) and origins (source) or Perhaps the form of licensing by the database core is bad, easy to use.

CDC Solution with bonus Simple ETL Feature

  • May 16, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best?
I used Qlik Replicate (formerly Attunity Replicate) from 2019 , ny company have huge OLTP per day perminute even per second, with Qlik Replicate our data from OLTP can be distribute in near real-time to our Data Warehouse. Before that , our apps can use data from OLTP with Day-1 Data (yesterday) , now our apps can use same day data indirectly its really helps our business process and operational to achive our company target. I personally love the ability to replicate into multiverse database, CDC Feature & Operation Indicator function from Qlik Replicate
What do you dislike?
maybe we need some feature like if ..else.. then.. / if zero value then.. else.. . just like ifnull() function .
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
CDC feature is not supported in Oracle 12c SE2 , Qlik Replicate is the solution to this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you search to replicate your database to another platform , then Qlik Replicate is your choice! you can do simple ETL, to fullfill your needs.
