Wonderful VPN software from the FOSS community
What do you like best about the product?
With the latest recent releases, the amount of modern integration with authentication services has been a treat. We specifically use Okta and the integration was quick and easy. Being a FOSS project and running on Linux means amazing stability and performance. With the ability to have a horizontally-scaled infrastructure and a central SQL DB makes this a great product for even larger organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will say that the free license restriction of 2 simultaneous users for smaller use cases is a bit limiting. If you had 5-10 free simultaneous users with the free license, I think you'd attract more companies into the fold and they could grow into the product naturally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the age of remote workers, VPNs are a must. OpenVPN is a great product that can grow from small to large user access with tons of high end customizability.

OpenVPN has been a rock solid VPN solution for us for years
What do you like best about the product?
We use OpenVPN Access Server as a self-hosted solution. It's easy to install, easy to maintain and easy to configure. While you can use the administrative GUI, we found that the CLI tools make it easier to manage large numbers of accounts - especially when you're managing accounts used for events like training classes or cyber competitions. It's very easy to script out the setup, teardown, and permissions assigned to hundreds of accounts using the CLI. My personal favorite feature is the CLI - it's saved us hours and time when working with hundreds of accounts over multiple events.
What do you dislike about the product?
OpenVPN Access Server doesn't really have an integrated ability to reset single user accounts. When dealing with hundreds of accounts, you will inevitably have a user lock themselves out of the interface due to failed logins. While you can set the lockout threshold to any time you'd like, it would be really nice to have a simple "unlock account" feature in the admin GUI or available through the CLI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use OpenVPN to provide access to virtual environments used in training classes and cyber competitions. Many of our classes have 50 or more students and our cyber competitions can have hundreds of simultaneous competitors. OpenVPN ensures we maintain positive control over our environment and ensure communications are secure.
