Great idea, a little hard to find support
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part is the edit-in-place feature. This makes it really easy for me to build websites for clients and then hand it over to them to maintain.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite thing is that Concrete 5 isn't as widespread as some other web platforms. So there's fewer widget options and support. I liked how simple it was to implement, as I don't have a ton of web development experience, but when I got stuck, I found it pretty frustrating to try to find the answers I need. Like other CMSs, I am always nervous to install updates, because I'm afraid it will break the website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Concrete 5 allows me to hand over web maintinance to clients. My clients can keep their own websites updated with no knowledge of code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great, but not very supported. When I had questions, I sometimes had trouble finding answers.

A CMS built with end users in mind.
What do you like best about the product?
The front end editing and block additions are simple for our customers to manage regardless of their technical abilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are few quality themes and most are too bloated for ease. The add ons seem less reliable than in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a number of clients that come to us with limited capabilities because of skill or tools. Once we move them off their previous platform, they can easily update their sites and are always grateful for the independence Concrete5 allows them.
Love Concrete5!!
What do you like best about the product?
It is so easy from a developer standpoint to create websites that are easy for clients, with no web background, to maintain once I am done building it. It is super simply to train people on and easy for them to really take over without much help after we hand it over!! I do like that there are themes you can choose from too. It makes it easy to start instead of starting from scratch.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more of a variety of pre made blocks. I build a lot of my own blocks, which is actually really really easy, but I wish there was a huge library, much like Wordpress has. Because you can seriously search for anything and everything on word press and you can find it. No matter what you are looking for. I wish there were more, so I did not have to make my own all of the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like I said before, it creates a really simple atmosphere that everyone can benefit from, no matter what your level of experience is in web design! It is so easy from a developer standpoint to create websites that are easy for clients, with no web background, to maintain once I am done building it. It is super simply to train people on and easy for them to really take over without much help after we hand it over!!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try at least! There are so many benefits!
Not what I expected
What do you like best about the product?
Blocks are easy for non programmers to work with, and edit the page.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some developer documentation is a bit obscure and out of the date. Also, there are not as many tutorials available as for some other platforms, which makes a job bit more difficult for certain things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was mostly using Concrete5 to build a custom website with small traffic that didn't require a lot of changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend it, but as I mentioned before, it might be a bit difficult to find the right developers to implement certain features.
Simple Straightforward CMS
What do you like best about the product?
I first used C5 years ago while it was fairly new in the market. What caught my attention then was the on page editing experience that was very new at that time as none of the other CMSs had implemented it.
The development experience as well was brilliant. Creating a theme from your HTML built site was straightforward and required a few lines of code to make editable fields.
The learning curve was a no brainer.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of the issues back then was load times and seamless updates had not been implemented.
I haven't built a site into it in a while so I'm not sure what the update experience is like now.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I chose concrete5 as it allowed multiple admins on an easy to use platform. I wanted site administrators to have a delightful experience when editing their site and that's exactly what C5 provided.
Excellent. Been using C5 for 9 years
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to customise and users love the user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Some customizations rely on quite a bit of heavy uplift. In terms of setting up blogs for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly corporate websites allowing no specialists the chance to manage online content
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get using it. Its fantastic.
Flexible CMS ever
What do you like best about the product?
It's also similar to other's much flexible and good one. Also which is not a better option for the e-commerce work.
What do you dislike about the product?
most of the good packages are paid one only, need more active community
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple Web apps
Easy to use and setup a new website
What do you like best about the product?
I haven’t used concrete5 that deep but so far was simple and help you to setup a website quickly
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation need to be improved so need more examples
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building a website
Very flexible CMS, was limited by the agency managing it for us
What do you like best about the product?
Concrete5 being open source is a great asset for finding integrations that others already created for your website. Everything we wanted to do with our website we were able to, either by custom programming or integrations from the marketplace.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had an agency managing our overall Concrete5 account and this limited us in what we were able to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very easy to update the website and collect form submissions. You don’t need to have full web development skills, but they can definitely broaden the horizon.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Choosing a CMS is very important. Concrete5 is a great option for small businesses as long as someone on your team has some web development experience for setting it up, otherwise it can be updated by your marketing team. It’s been a few years since I used it, but it had a lot of nice features and was easy for me, as a graphic designer, to use.
I have had positive a experience with Concrete5. I have built a couple of sites on it.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy edits, lots of resources, pretty good customer service forums. I really like the themes and how you can take a theme design and make it your own. Most CMS have limitations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The updates. Seems like every three months there is an update. I actually did an update and it disrupted the entire site. I had to do a complete rebuild. The contact page, despite the fact there is a recaptcha, doesn't seem to have a spam filter. I get inundated with spam daily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problems is having pages hidden to the public and accessed by subscribers, that is really nice. I also like how easy it is to make changes to the web site. It's a very simple process that doesn't require diving into code. This makes it easy for the laymen to go in and make easy edits.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be patient and follow the set up steps word for word. I did the set up through my host and once I uploaded Concrete5, I had to set up the theme. The process can be a little bit tricky because you have to override the current theme in place and build pages or override the current template.
