"DeleteOnTermination": false for root volume.

could you kindly explain why you enable "DeleteOnTermination": false by-defeault for you amis? Why you thinks that this is a good idia?

Free tier eligible also means cheap and throw away.... Do ya think you could make it default throw away?
You can argue it's "safer" but it's also expensive and annoying to leave the primary volume hanging around every time you create and destroy and instance using this AMI. Please set the DeleteOnTermination TRUE. We inevitably end up with useless volumes marked as "available" and they you have to analyze whether it's trash or a backup or what have you. PLEASE set the DeleteOnTermination TRUE. This has the smell of a rather underhanded revenue stream for AWS by leaving trillions of bytes of unused but billable storage space hanging around across tens of thousands of accounts.
