We love how easy TIBCO makes it to create powerful interactive data visualizations in Spotfire.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've been using the TERR engine to workaround the lack of native product support to create a Spotfire table from the results of a webservice / RESTful API query. Most of what a Spotfire needs to call a RESTful web service is already in the Data Function registration UIs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our customers in upstream oil & gas analyze OAG Analytics results in Spotfire to improve subsurface maps, frac hit predictability, and decline curves for tightly spaced unconventional wells.

Reproting, Dashboarding, KPIs. Benefits : Integrated Reporting
Easy to use and connect to disparate data sources
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature is being able to connect and compare disparate data sources along with the ability to simply create visualizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
On large data sets the Spotfire client requires a lot of RAM, which is understandable. I find the ability to replace the information link with a new one tough without reworking the whole report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire has helped empower our non technical workers to be able to create prototypes of projects.

It allows the connection between user scientist and their data quickly and in a way that can allow analysis be intresting and flexible

$$$ license cost is excessive, but no other tool provides the same skill
