What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire is most helpful in creating data visualizations quickly and handling large datasets. We share derived data and insights across teams and with customers. It allows us to quickly go from proof of concept to product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web player functionality is limited, lacks ability to even run advanced data models.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
Tibco spotfire allows us to connect multiple SQL databases into one analytics tool. These seem less connections allow our non SQL experts to select their own tables to start modeling dashboards with.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you are building new dashboards, any time you want to test a change it will need to reload the dashboard. You need to get good at limiting your changes to smaller test subsets before making it for an entire data set. If not, you will spend a lot of time waiting for the data to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest issues pre spotfire is the different business groups where all using different versions in f the truth. Spotfire had allowed us to create dashboards that can be used in high level meetings that everyone can agree is the "truth".

What do you like best about the product?
We are data management (ETL) company with global 500 customers. We have developed a connector with Spotfire which allows our customers to pull their data from our platform to Spotfire. This has given our customers the flexibility and ease in running their analytics with a powerful visualization tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime the customers have a hard time getting Spotfire set up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization. We basically make TIBCO look good with allowing many forms of accurate and diverse data being connected.

Great support for technology partners and we are also a huge fan of their education program
Best visual tool and aggregator
What do you like best about the product?
I like the bright visuals and the immense aggregation capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more recent versions have hidden some of the more useful features behind panels, and made them harder to get to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving many ad hoc analysis problems with Spotfire as well as some everyday tasks. I use it on a regular basis for visualizing drill schedules, and for pivoting data into cross tables.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend using Spotfire for many reasons. The visualization capabilities give an almost instant view into data quality. The ability to quickly work with massive amounts of data are impressive. And the aggregation of those massive numbers of records is so intuitive!
Perfect platform for customization
What do you like best about the product?
They provide a great platform for quickly visualizing all the custom calculations you want to create in the background. Great adaptability for using custom HTML, R, Python, Java, CSS, etc..
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to be able to use spreadsheet interface sometimes, which is hard to beat Excel.

Business development team - forecasting large swaths of wells.

Visual analytics and out of the box insights. Ease of use.

Amount of data being able to handle, performance. Miss the gauge chart

The ability to expand upon Spotfire to do what I need to do.

The multiple locations for common actions, it confuses new users.

Visualizing linear data, production data.

An Analytics Tool for Custom applications
What do you like best about the product?
As a analyst who commonly uses programming languages for analytics, I appreciate the integration with R and the possibility of using Python functions that have already been written. The ability of the software to be customized is highly valued to both the business and the IT team that supports the tool.

Better integration with the Python data function add-in

Predicting well production volumes, storage levels, etc. Visualizing business intelligence solutions

I have used many analytical tools in my job and Spotfire is top notch tool, it makes data mining, data cleaning and data analytical exercise fun and efficient!

There is no UNDO button, so if you mess up, you have to do it over :)
