Best customizable BI software out there
What do you like best about the product?
TIBCO spotfire has the most functionality as of Business intelligence softwares out there. It provides you all these cool visualization while you can wrangle the data with R, python in the back end. All the GIS and map features are pretty useful and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it better than other B I tools out there, spotfire is not the best place to have a lot of computation with significant amount of data. It freezes when you have a few million rows running doing computations for calculated column in the back end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering all the data from different source and wrangle the data with a good viz feature were the biggest challenge we had. It's now solved by using TIBCO Spotfire.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try not to push TIBCO EMS in the sales pitch, it doesn't help much.

Amazing visualization tool
What do you like best about the product?
Provides capabilities for predictive analytics and real time analytics which enables users to build powerful advanced analytical solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
Poor drill down capabilities when compared to Tableau. Does not provide ability to connect to multiple data sources like Tableau
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire was used to create a dashboard for the internal financial team to serve as a Self service BI option. It is easy to use and has no steep learning curve associated with it.

What do you like best about the product?
TIBCO Spotfire sets the industry benchmark for analytics tools by perfectly balancing performance with usability. While I have been using Spotfire for a long time now, I still admire how easy it is for a new user to get on board with the tool. It takes less than a day to find your way around most features and start working on real data models! Less than a day!
What do you dislike about the product?
Working on very large data can be tricky on Spotfire when executing inefficient transformations. It would help if Spotfire could detect these inefficiencies rather than execute the transformation blindly.
On the other hand, Spotfire offers limited visualisation features when compared to hardcore BI tools like Tableau or Looker. If reporting is your primary use case, it might be better to use Spotfire along with a core BI tool.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire is used by the analytics team as the primary data analysis tool. Most heavy data transformations, modelling, filtering, cleaning, and pre-processing is done using Spotfire. Moreover, Spotfire serves as the data source for most of our business intelligence dashboards.

TIBCO Spotfire in a data analytics and data engineering tool that you cannot go wrong with.
Spotfire offers almost all the typical data engineering features. For most generic data requirements, TIBCO Spotfire has it covered.
However, if your organisation works with some very niche data formats and is likely to have atypical needs in terms of data transformations and formatting, then you may want to consider alternatives. For most scenarios, however, Spotfire is a safe bet.

Tibco is never Real Time
What do you like best about the product?
Although it is a pretty outdated platform, Tibco is very responsive to query and script writing. While this requires a lot of back end work and can be very very temperamental, it provides the opportunity to customize your data outputs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We dont like how updates are not life. Currently the system updates every 24 hours. This doesnt allow us to get real time date and instead leaves us estimating and projecting far more than we would ever want to. Furthermore, the filters and outputs are not full proof, and the percentage of data that is able to fall through is too much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving issues that can be answered through data outputs. By using spitfire we can export data into excel and scv files in order to further evaluate performance, standing, etc.

Make sure to take full advantage of data export features, they will be a life saver.
Very easy to use

The product allows data to be brought together really easily and the speed at which you get good visualisations Is remarkable

Don’t have anything to dislike really. Perhaps some way to have a native app?

We use it to visualise what’s going through our API layers and see the load on the services and where we are having bottlenecks

I like the drill-down capabilities and “details on demand” option for visualizations.

Not a huge fan of how you have to create calculated columns to use in visualizations for most complex formulas.

It has been a good tool to enable management to drill into the data behind charts.

If you are looking for a good dashboard/reporting tool that also has statistical capabilities, Spotfire is a good option.
Data Analytics and Visualization made Simpler
What do you like best about the product?
TIBCO Spotfire can in the simplest form be called an analytics platform. It is one of the market leaders when it comes to data analytics and data visualization. The power of this tool lies in the beauty of the charts, graphs and how it can make your data come alive. The visualization adds a different character to the data which makes it super easy to understand and interactive as well because you can just give it a glance and understand immediately what they are trying to depict.
The inbuilt AI engine is also very intelligent and up to date. It can track the trends, patterns and anomalies. It has been very useful for us because we are able to call a certain situation beforehand and it is usually correct.
The size of the data is not a problem for this tool as it can ingest millions of records and spit out beautiful looking data in no time and saving you time and effort. It can accept the data from multiple sources like Excel, CSV, Access etc ...

What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many things which I could categorize as dislike because this tool does the job so well. Although there are a few improvements which I would like to suggest. I would love to a major upgrade in the interface because the menus and features are all there but they arent't placed very neatly or not qa lot of thought has gone into designing a simple clutter free and go the point GUI.

We have really benefited a lot by using this tool. It took us a very long time to represent the data in Excel earlier and it was nowhere near what it looks like in this tool vibrant, easy to understand and interactive.
The dashboards are super useful because they provide us the summary of the complete data in a single screen. The ability ot ingest data from any source almost is incredible because that means we can expand our data options and attach more and more clinets and provide them with accurate analytics and prediction based on the data.

This is a brilliant tool for data analytics and visualization because it will transform your data into beautiful diagrams which are understood by everyone and everyone can provide their feedback on the same.

- missing feature: ability to (1) save the exact configuration of a particular filter for a particular column and (2) apply those saved settings to the same filter / column on a page with a different filtering scheme
-- most common example in test engineering: DUT_ID
- fixed, non-tuneable limit on number of elements in list boxes (seems to be ~1000, which is insufficient)
-- the ability to define that max in the options somewhere to whatever an application requires would be great
- no multiple y-axis scales for boxplots
- visualization defaults in options
-- some settings seem to get irgnored sometimes (e.g. formatting and font size for trellis headers)
-- some settings that are available in the properties of a visualization cannot be defined as defaults (e.g. box plot jittering)

Spotfire is very intuitive and an amazing tool for Organisations reporting needs.

There’s nothing to note on disliking TIBCO Spotfire.

Clear and useful visualisations to present Exec reports and helpful detailed reports to analytical audience

Breadth of functionality. Terr is really helpful. Caching is great. Javascript API is huge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't sort on crosstables well, cant combine tables and cross tables. Design is somewhat limited.

Super fast iteration of analyses.
