Analytics at your Fingertips with Spotfire
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the capability of embedding HTML, Python and Javascript in Spotfire. It has a good user interface which is easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spotfire is tough to understand for beginners. It requires extensive training and cost is expensive. Someone should train from their customer support team to fully understand the capabilties of Spotfire.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire helped me to explore and create insights from clinical trials data. It has been our luck that I have gone through the TIBCO resource extensively in order to implement it for our company.

Fast & Reliable Data Reporting Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire has a lot of advanced data analytic capabilities and offers industry specific solutions helping accelerate the time to value for our company. It can be easily customised.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spotfire is very tough to learn and I can say this with 100% surity. Requires lot of time and effort to learn. It has very high cost associated with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire has connected to our data platforms and helped in analyzing the sales data to understand trends, customer behavior, and product performance. It also helped in optimizing the inventory management. Helped us in visualizing the customer data and understand their purchase behaviors.
Savior for reporting in Oil & Gas Industry
What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire has a lot of connectors available to our domain, it enabled the connectivity to platforms like Maximo and SAP Hana in order to solve complex business problems. Spotfire also comes with a lot of data science capabilities which is helping us to drive innovation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spotfire is very limited to work on Windows platform, though there are workarounds for using it on MacOS or Linux, but they ain't as good as Windows. Customization options are very limited in Spotfire and not all the functionalities can be achieved through HTML or Iron Python.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire solves major challenges for us to connect to the data coming from the drilling operations, sensors and geological surveys. It helps us to analyse the data coming from these sources, identify pattersn and take informed decisions. It also helps with analyzing the geospatial data which I can say is a core feature of Spotfire, allowing us to map out exploration sites, well locations and other critical assets.
A tool for data visualization
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to build dashboards and reports using this tool and to investigate data and explore different scenarios in a dashboard and promote it as a professional dashboard to internal or external clients. Also, the support provided by Tibco and it's vast Spotfire community is impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Restriction while connecting to streaming data. Only 'Streambase'(product from Tibco to Stream data) has to be used in order to connect to a streaming data in Spotfire.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using Spotfire from many years to build dashboards mainly. Having the 'data canvas' where we can see the backend structure of tables has made it easier to understand the connection between the backend analytics next to the frontend analytics.
Easy to use and Effective BI Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire is a very powerful BI tool. It has helped us to understand the customer behavior, interests, and particularly their actions taken. Generating insights from our marketing and sales data while connecting to the Zoho CRM is fantastic. Spotfire has a very good user interface which makes things easier to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major downside of Spotfire is its cost and the technical implementation when using it for the first time. When I joined the firm, it was already there but took me a lot of time to learn and create dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire has enabled real time analytics for our firm enabling us to take decisions which are data driven and customer centric. It has been integrated well with our data sources. I am in awe with the capability of predictive analytics of Spotfire, which is helping us to identify future outcomes and possibly mitigate those by taking preventive measures.
It is great for analzying and visualizing time-series data like OSISoft PI systems.
What do you like best about the product?
The visualizations that can be created from the real-time data. It is very easy to use and create the visualizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no standard or best practices related to connecting to data sources which makes starting off confusing.

Spotfire is tracking power usage across facilities and can be used for a variety of applications.

Ease of use and ease of maintenance, scalble to programming languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frequest upgrades and patches, package upgrades.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
solving comples data analysis problems, used for predctive maintanance and scale to Python code
Assigned task of re-architecting Security model.
What do you like best about the product?
Spotfire's Administration manager makes it very easy to implement roles to the appropriate groups. The customer support is also very helpful and typically respond to tickets in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many ways to create a data connection in Spotfire, however this makes security of sensitive data difficult to manage. Embedded connections do not populate in the information designer making visibility of all data sources not very clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire works well with PI data which is very beneficial to our company.
Better than Power BI
What do you like best about the product?
I have used Spotfire and have liked it the most. It has very good visuals and makes it very easier to explore the data and get insights out of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not many visuals available in Spotfire which makes its major limitations and cost wise also it is very expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire has resolved major problems of extracting insights from the data which is getting generated on a daily basis. It has enabled our team to take data-driven decisions.
Spotfire- Real time data visualization and Insights
What do you like best about the product?
We have huge amount of unstructured data. Once we feed data into spotfire, it analyses the data and provides Indights and patterns from data. This can be utilized to take impactful decisions. Spotfire is not n ot very complex and easily data can be fed. It provides useful visualization. When we implemented it, it was easy with fewer trainings to implemet and can be integrated easily mongoDB.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall this product is very good but since it provides a lot of functionality, we have to go through trainings to utilize it well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So we wanted to use an analytics tool which provide us insight for our AI model. We had mongoDB for integration. Now other tools where giving results but percentage of useful insight was less than 60 percent. Now we came across Spotfire. When we integrated it with mongoDB, it started utilizing data very quickly and started providing results where percentage of useful insight was more than 80%. Now when we started utilizing this visual representation, it benefitted client and made them happy.
