Effective Data Manipulation and Display
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about TIBCO Spotfire for me is the amazing data presentation capabilities. It far outshines most other similar programs both in abilities and ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to use in conjunction with other programs and varying file types
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to perform complex graphing without the need to use programs like MatLab and R, which makes it easier to have everyone participate in a project since a skill level isn't needed

Take advantage of the customer service! It is top notch!

Best data Analytics product

I'm solving all analytical problems that involves complex data with tibco spotfire

it is a really good deal for data analysis and for data reporting. I definitely recommend this to everybody
Spotfire: A breakthrough in Data Visualization.
What do you like best about the product?
The state of the art interface which incorporates visualization, discovery, predictive analysis of data without any complex coding algorithms.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not enough marketing and commercial promotion of BI (business intelligence) tools which could support and intensify user experience with visualization, real-time analytics and interactive reporting.
Combination chart does not permit stacked bars along with a line. For example: If I create a stacked bars setup it can easily be broken down with the column's individual values by color,but the same will not be possible with the line.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was not able to create a relation with seismic data cube and and its sources. So I used TIBCO Cloud Spotfire Analyst to create analyses for my analytic scheme and then I distribute to other users for validation through TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® Consumer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would advice everybody to get trained at CloudFoundation to get a good gist on the this software. As there is a huge demand for people who are skilled in Spotfire.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create meaningful visualizations that can be used across the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user comminity can be hard to connect with outside of the conferences etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to highlight meaningful metrics and data that was either unseen or difficult to access before.

What do you like best about the product?
Tibco Spotfire is very easy to use and learn

It is sometimes overwhelming . The informations were there but it was lacking the cloud integration with non tibco products

Reporting and data analysis
Strong analytics tool with lots of capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Newly introduced natural language queries. Streamlined UI. Ease of use for the end user (simple to understand). Ability to have enterprise cloud hosting. Now the support of live data via the web client — not just relegated to desktop users.
What do you dislike about the product?
UI was streamlined too much — it now takes 2-3 more clicks that previous versions. Developers encounter a learning curve for the backend. Lack of pixel perfect reporting and the ability to cleanly export reports via PDF or excel without too much manual manipulation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to analyze large amounts of data via a dashboard for both an end user plus a power user. Accessible via web player. Spotfire is able to aggregate large amounts quickly. Housing hundreds of information links of disparate data-sources.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are a lot of very useful features and shortcuts for the everyday analyst. This tool was made by analytics professionals so the tool does exactly what it is supposed to
What do you dislike about the product?
it's not very sexy out of the box, but with a litle bit of make up now that css and html you can do astonishing dashboards if you are using the tool for that. If you are looking for insights and answers, then there is no need for makeup. As an analogy, Spotifre is a great cake with great taste but the look and feel might not be for everyone. However, they unleashed the power to the end users to make it look nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anything from descriptive to predictive analytics. Mostly descriptive in my case, but I have seen it doing great things. One of the benefits is the availability to clean, transform and massage the data with out of the box tools that no other tool has integrated as well as Spotfire does.

Spotfire is not a tool, it's a platform. Very flexible and very powerful tool at the right cost.

Spotfire allows to easily load data from different data sources, combine all of them and build all the desired charts

It could be a limitation the fact the analyst used for development purpose is not available for linux

It Allows business users with limited IT know how to build dashboards and analyze the data
Good visualisation tool for decision making

I like the various features particularly filters and bookmarks

i do not like options of export into excel in specific format you need to have pythons applied in order to do that i wish that thing had inbuilt functionality
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a problem of consolidating multiple excel reports of clinical studies into one which system was unable to do so we connected spotfire to our tool in order to have everything in one report and in form of visualization of reports

Excellent Interface and Customer Support in Business Intelligence Product
What do you like best about the product?
The way that the product is always improving, the flexibility of the way it allows for the exploration of data and customer support available. The interface is very intuitive and easy to learn. Also, the improvements in the ability to edit data wrangilng have been huge!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the product does some heuristic predictions of my intentions that end up being incorrect and it leads to more work to undo the predictions. I would love see continuations to the interface to for data wrangling that would allow for moving the order of the combination of data joins, and the ability to use wild cards in the selection of columns for different transformations. That would be awesome!

Data delivery to large numbers of users specific to questions that they are asking. The benefits realized is that it has expanded the ways that we can examine information, leading to more targeted questions and better decision making.
