Great Data Visualization

The ability to be able to drill down into large datasets by filtering

I dislike how I have to sign in every hour

I am solving reserves estimates. We are able to tie in cash flows by joining different tables

Easy to view and interpret massive quantities of data

If something can't be found, no alert message to confirm

Identifying and managing areas of low to high risk within a project.
Spotfire is a great tool that rivals Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create different visualizations and add custom codes to perform advanced analysis. Being able to link data tables using joins as well as aggregate data quickly. The Spotfire tool also has different machine learning interfaces that can run analytics on data. An example is a Random Forest module that I use frequently to find patterns within the data set, quantify relationships between features, and finally make sound predictions based on the features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current difficulty to write code in python within the software and implement quickly. Also, the inability to store lots of data in a warehouse temporarily without linking to an external platform. Currently, the platform is not widely known and used across multiple industries so it makes it difficult to collaborate with other colleagues from different industries. It seems like Tableau is the current data visualization tool of choice by many.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Spotfire for data wrangling and analysis within the Oil & Gas industry. Some of the problems are well rate versus time plots, well spacing visualization, and acreage mapping and summary statistics. I have used TIBCO Spotfire to take in a data set, read it, aggregate the data based on the mean, and written a script to display the data relative to a fixed point. I have also used the software to spatially map different acreage positions as well as performed clustering analysis on producing wells.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make Python language the base language instead of TERR. Many data enthusiasts love Python when compared to R.
Pretty decent reporting tool, can enhance some motte

Visuals In Seconds! Tap and boom , different modes for different environments if needed

Visual layout and color, non acceptance of SQL CTE

What do you like best about the product?
This software is extremely intuitive, I learned how to effectively use the software in less than a day and was able to use it to make my anchor project findings for my internship easy to understand for the upper management I was presenting to. It's super easy to use and customize to what you want it to look like and convey. Furthermore, exporting is also extremely easy and you won't be prompted to do anything difficult to use your findings in other application services - like powerpoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
The filter settings for your data are very stringent and will apply to everything, so you do have to be weary about filtering, or create a new page for your next visual dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This solved my a problem of us being able to quickly and easily display in depth findings and draw actionable conclusions based on the data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you sit with another member of your team and see what they use the software for, or work on a project together, it'll be much easier for you to understand. This works great with syndicated data reports.
TIBCO Spotfire - One stop visualization solution
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the customization offered by TIBCO Spotfire through HTML/Javascript/IronPython and R language. It helps create customized great visualization which provides capabilities to the client who use our companies tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets slower as the size of data increases. Load data on demand is the solution but it would be great to have faster querying time for bulk data sets also.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use TIBCO spotfire for working on my company's well analysis tool. The tool is also used by oil and gas clients and I help in maintaining the front end to meet client's requirements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a pretty common tool used in oil and gas sector for analyzing wells and assets data for different basins, play and subplay. It can be equally useful in other sectors. It has great training videos. So, no prior experience required. Go ahead if you want to experiment the tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to load any data, from anywhere and to do data wrangling. This helps to merge different data sets and to work on actionable insights. Spotfire helps you to filter data and gives answers instantly. This can connect to any kind of source be it, flat files, excel files, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Big Data sources, SAP, Cloud, Web Services, Google Analytics etc.
This also comes with Statistical capabilities to have predictive analytics functionality using R programming, S+, SAS and MATLAB.

Need to have more native visualizations which would be used extensively.

Able to see insights from data easily and faster than before, which helps in saving time.

The best feature in my opinion is that you get to create your own data columns and input equations within the same app instead of changing the data source. I also like that it gives you the ability to customize your dashboards with java and python.
What do you dislike about the product?
When updating data sources, you have to manually update all of the other sheets that use those same columns which is a very time consuming task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spotfire provides the ability to create rapid prototypes of applications or even the ability to quickly validate analytics/data.

Lots of tricks can be used to manipulate your data to be read and interpreted as easily as possible.

Application takes a while to load at start up

Bad actors and unfulfilled orders or completed but tardy
Easy to manage analytics platform with lots of customization

Easy visual platform and plenty of options for customization.

Clunky interface with lots of room for improvement, especially when exporting data.

Vulnerability systems management - easy to segment with each group and each team's individual vulnerabilities.

Be very specific when deciding your parameters for search. It can be a bit tricky if there are historical attributions that don't fit your current criteria.
