An excellent tool for every type of analysis
What do you like best about the product?
A really useful program of great importance for those who need to analyze data of all kinds. It doesn't matter the sector from which the data to be analyzed originates. With this program, you can truly achieve the impossible!
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is a little high. The advanced edition, which has many more features than the standard edition, costs about 2000 euros and is a bit much. I would have appreciated the cost of the advanced/professional edition being equal to the cost of the standard edition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The models offered by the program are particularly useful for carrying out all sorts of analyses. The function that allows the import of data from external programs is truly very useful. This program then requires very low system requirements, so it is suitable for any type of computer or office workstation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
One must try it to understand what it can offer. Seeing a video or screenshots of the program does not convey what you really have in front of you!

What do you like best about the product?
The interface, easy clustering, visualization etc are one of the best features of this. The most interesting is visualization. It is sometimes hard to understand the data without that.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks customer support. I have sometimes tried to contact someone for help, but I had to solve it myself just because the response was late.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I help people to understand the impact of advertising. I continuously require the features of clustering etc. So, This software helps significantly to achieve that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend people to use it. In professions similar to mine, it is always good to just try out something new. I ask them just to try and they continue the work.
Ease of use for predictive analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The integration and ease of use with data is really good. Although the product has limited features. It is really good if you know what to do rather than depend upon the product to give recommendation on your data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is not fast enough and their customer support is not good at all. Had a really bad experience with them few months back. Due to this my company decided to switch it with another product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Predictive analytics.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of statistica is the level of integration, with seamless connections between disparate modes. You can get all of statistics, machine learning, data mining and text mining at one place without the need to migrate from one environment to another. Apart from that it also has a graphical interface which can construct workflows to process data which can be saved and can be used by anyone who has permissions. So the ease of use and the integration aspect is what steals the heart of a user here :)
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance of Statistica reduces drastically when the system does not have required RAM for computation and it is handled using the RAM and HDD. The performance of competing data analysis applications is much better in such cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using statistica data mining tool to analyze user's reviews on our products sold online and this helps us decide what kind of products to continue selling in future and which ones not to. This has increased our profits significantly and it reduces our risk in maintaining inventories.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ease of use and an all in one platform is what every user will need and statistica is the right solution for that. Of course there are a few limitations but the gain outweighs the pain :P. Do use this all in one software platform for statistical analysis, data mining or machine learning.
Useful for strategic business decisions
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of running business analytics and the ease of their interpretation. Very user friendly, and a must have tool for making strategic decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although, I strongly recommend this program, the one area that is lacking is customer support. It is not easy to access customer support, and often is time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The data we collect through this program is used by myself to make HR decisions such as recruitment and compensation.

The costumer support is really a turn down when you need it.

It helps a lot to gather data, something that you would do in hours you can do in minutes..

Consider having a better local support. We have quite a hard time getting the support here in Brazil..

Power of Spotfire at the push of a button
I'm a long time Spotfire administrator but fairly new to AWS. I recently received a request from a colleague that wanted to collaborate on a Spotfire analysis with someone at another organization. Since he needed to move quickly, I decided to go with this product so I could provide external access quickly. After understanding the resource requirements, I went with r3.large and my colleague informed me the performance is amazing. It is great knowing that I can spin up Spotfire environments on demand and don't have all the overhead of managing the infrastructure. Nice job TIBCO and AWS!
Way to expensive to get a little bit more ram/T3.medium and M3.medium don't work
It's incomprehensible who in their right mind would pay 200 an hour for this. The smallest instances also don't work. With only 1 vcpu, the operating system takes all the resources and you can only view/work with the smallest instances.
On the other side though the c3/c4 medium work fine. At least if you are not using too much ram. Kind of price gauging to be able to get 8 gb of ram for 6 an hour. Sort of rediculous. If I want to integrate this into my workflow and leave it on, I don't want to spend 50 a day just to leave this software on. I can handle 10-15. But come on, let me have 8 gb of ram!!!!

Very good for data analysis and visualizations.
Really easy to use and launch. The connectivity is really good, I have my data in RDS and Redshift and setup was really quick and you can also use it with the web author to upload and analyze your data.
The big plus is that the hourly pricing makes it really affordable even for one data analyst.
