Node.js latest stable with Express, MEAN, LoopBack, slc and Monitoring
StrongLoop | 2.0*Linux/Unix, Amazon Linux 2014.03 - 64-bit Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Loopback rocks, the server setup, kind of
Loopback comes working. That may be enough for testers.
For who wants the seriuos stuff... Since the Amazon Linux is a rolling-release distro, it is just a metter of upgrading it to get it to the newest, as is with the Loopback stack itself, just issue the update command to grab the latest.
But what I'm stuck with is the nodejs version. Right now, latest node is 0.12, but the Amazon Linux got a 0.10 and that's it. I managed to install nvm and the latest 0.12.7 from there, but so I got stuck with the path hell.
The MongoDB specifics for Amazon Linux are not applyed as well. You needs to go through its documentation and make it yourself.
For last, the Stong-PM service installation is not compatible with the Amazon Linux, so do not expect to use it to get your project running as a service. I was required to setup "forever-service" (very nice by the way) to get my projects running as services with Strong-pm.
