Oracle Linux for Enterprise
What do you like best about the product?
Oracle Linux is very useful for long-term usage because of its pricing plan and it is very cost-effective as compared to other cloud VM providers plus oracle linux is very good for development and production purpose. Oracle Linux is general purpose OS so we can use it as per our requirements
What do you dislike about the product?
Oracle Linux is good but as compared to other vendors oracle doesn't provide so much add-ons services as compare to other vendors this will specifically apply for production usage for development purposes or use oracle Linux in production with customization that it is good
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Oracle Linux is very simple to use because it doesn't contain complex configuration and it is very flexible to use in various use cases plus cost is also good for long term

Better than ever
What do you like best about the product?
I personally feel it is much more better than redhat linux. It has all the falvour what you have seen in typical linux. And its cheaper with better support quality. All the commands are very similar to redhat linux plus they are offering this on oracle cloud and ready to move our existing physical servers on oracle cloud, which is great
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing is there that i dislike. Product is good. Sometimes it is hard to get hold of support team then we have to escalate it to the sales team to get our issue resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to use linux and the budget crunch is there. So oracle helped us achieve what is required for business and pre-support service is excellent. All the commands, looks and feel is very much similar to redhat linux, plus they helped us move our existing infrastructure to oracle cloud which is fabulous.
Enterprise and Stable Operating System ( Oracle Linux )
What do you like best about the product?
Following are the below points.
1) Easy availability to download from Oracle Offical website.
2) Runs with good stability and lesser know kernel bugs or crashes.
3) Easy patching, patch availability is also easy.
4) Availability of ksplic is an awesome feature for patching without downtime upgrades.

Following are downsides.

1) Well tested by the Oracle development team on kernel bug fixes.
2) With well-tested OS, lesser-known issues from OS bugs perspectives.
3) On-time addressed security patch availability from Oracle repos.

Enterprise tech companies can consider Oracle Linux without a second thought if you are looking to host Oracle Database, Oracle Linux works like charm with Oracle DataBase.

Very easy to work with, straightforward and is used by variety of different companies now.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation can be difficult as well as updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At this time I am not aware of any issues that are being fixed that would benefit me personally for my class.

No downsides I can think of, it is a flawless operating system

Easy accounting on this operating system. It just feels much smoother
Perfect Operating System for IT
What do you like best about the product?
Linux by far has the most capabilities when it is compared to windows and apple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only real downside is the lack of applications that are able to be run on Linux, but if you can look past this it is an amazing operating system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the problem of locating files. Locating files was much harder in Windows and Apple than when I used MacBooks and windows, I would have just a plethora of files on my desktop.
Complete OS optimized for DB

Oracle Linux works very well with Oracle DB

Nothing as such which I faced with oracle linux

Its more optimized for oracle DB and that solves the optimization issue for us.

Easy to use and configuration for java and oracle technologies is much more comfortable.

Nothing to dislike about this. It has very confined boundary fro certain use cases so you have to go beyond some limits

Kernal configuration is very easy and handy.

rare chances of troubleshooting as very stable product as described earlier

without GUI ,very difficult to trouble shoot and Very rare chance of getting Knowledge base

Very rare chances of downtime so not required troubleshooting even without upgrade

For a nonfamiliar oracle person, it's a bit difficult.
