All you could want in a data software platform
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is changing the game with its state of the art reporting software. Being able to connect to our CRM, marketing automation and even uploading excel documents, Tableau provides a slick interface that provides a great user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a little ramp up period in the beginning where you may need to go through some training in order to fully understand all the capabilities of the software. Luckily, Tableau has an immense amount of trainings and resources available to help!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to report on data sets and provide reports to our executives that help drive how we do business as well as the most profitable areas for growth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's super powerful but be prepared to take time and really dig into all that the software has to offer.

Tableau is one of best BI tools
What do you like best about the product?
User friendly tool. Could do so much with bI tools like tableau

I wish it has etl in the suite of products that it offers

I have created so many useful visualizations, which can’t be created in any of the BI Tools

It is one of self explanatory tools available in the market, could do wonders if you know how to use it.
Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Tabelau is incredibly easy to use, for all skill levels. It’s a very productive tool and hosts many functions for all needs
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular stands out. More use with the software may provide some insight on this though

Tableau is incredibly efficient for modeling data and picking up trends

What do you like best about the product?
It makes life so easy for end users without much of Technical knowledge
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot do data preparation and the back-end work, need to rely on technical team or other data prepping tools like alteryx
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Preparation of storyboards and dashboards for sales and marketing data to analyze the revenue yearly, monthly and quarterly along with the sales and revenue in particular regions and sectors

Tableau is gearing up with hyper and Maestro so hang on to Tableau . It will get better soon

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use of this tool, built in GUI and the tutorials and community offered online.
What do you dislike about the product?
How uniform the data has to sometimes be for it to analyze correctly. Also built-in zip code geocoding would be nice.

Data analysis and visualization.

The leader in data analysis. I highly recommend trying the public version before paying.
Visualize everything and anything
What do you like best about the product?
This platform has changed the way data used to flow from an analysts work desk to that of the audience. With simple visualizations, filters, dashboards it has made visualization easy and accessible to millions of people around the globe.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest disadvantage for this platform is that once you make your visualization public everyone has an access to it. they can download and manipulate it. Though it helps the community grown but the security issue that comes up becomes a major concern for some companies with sensitive data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using this platform to analyse data , exploratory data analysis, formulate visualizations and make presentations to clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Clean the data first, since Tableau cannot read a lot of formats. If you data is not clean the tool cannot do much. Also one you are inside the tool have a flow of what you want to do ready so that the tons of options do not confuse or mislead you.

I like that the software can run big data and the software is very friendly to use

it`s hard to correct and edit the data after uploaded from the source does not work with windows shortcuts

Powerful and Flexible Data Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is extraordinarily flexible. You can import data from virtually any source and integrate it with data from virtually any OTHER source and manipulate it into maps, charts, graphs, bubbles, lines, etc...whatever type of tool that makes trends and outliers pop out of the crowd.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like most complex software packages, Tableau isn't very intuitive. But, if you are familiar with Excel Pivot charts, you can kludge your way through. Tableau is expensive! And if you want to share your workbook, you either have to have a Tableau Server ($$$) put it on the public tableau cloud server (privacy concerns) or the person you are sharing with has to have Tableau or a free Tableau reader app. Not a deal breaker, by any means, but not ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau is allowing us to move off of obsolete analytics packages and (hopefully) will open up new ways to look at our data. We're able to do all of our analysis via Tableau vs. having to piece things together separately from a few different software packages (e.g. Datamart/Hyperion, Excel, DB2.) We can do it all in one place.

I enjoy the multi-functionality that Tableau offers me.

I dislike how challenging it can be to do simple things, this could be fixed with simple upgrades.

NIce visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Beautiful graphics, easy to create graphs, able to drag-drop data, there are many type of graphs for you to choose. It is flexible enough to allow you to adjust size of graphs and fonts, change the colors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need to clean data before use to create graphs. Can need some learning curves if you are a new user, especially, the user needs to know what type of chart they want to display the data because some graphs are not suitable for the dataset that they have.
