The breadth of info into one report can help tell multiple stories for customers.

Load times can lag depending on how much data is loaded into reports and dashboards.

Great System to Manage Data!
What do you like best about the product?
It's a visualization of data, so it is a great place to not only organize it but make it visual. There are so many options to how to pull things and have it appear - I feel like our company is just starting to tap it's true potential!
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of training and learning for those building it. If you don't have deep resources, I would recommend hiring out major builds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have essentially transitioned all of our operations' performance monitoring and reporting into Tableau. It's a much quicker, cleaner and efficient way of reading and updating data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hire experts and train the right people well. It's hard to make the investment, but you'll be really happy with all of the different things you can do. It's a wonderful tool if you have folks educated enough to really use it.

Good analytics program, but could improve on being more user-friendly

Easy to choose data elements to put on each axis as well as perform calculations on data elements

It is sometimes difficult to create charts with the data, not always intuitive, also adjusting the sizes of charts and boxes is very annoying since you cannot just drag the corners, but have to go to the lxw

The data visualization in Tableau is amazing, a great way to easily communicate results to non-data savvy coworkers

Fairly steep learning curve, but expected with such a robust tool

The ability to create unique views of the data and save it in a storyboard format is the best feature.

The inability to have more than a few line graphs in a chart is very frustrating.

I use Tableau to analyze my client data for client retention problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are lot of competing products so do a thorough evaluation before paying the high fee for this product. I do like how I was able to pay a one-time fee and no annual support so I don't have any on-going costs. But downside is I don't get automatic updates. In the age of SaaS, it is kind of refreshing to have this product installed on my desktop and easy to use no matter where I am.

The problem that I solve is have the reports everyday and with updated and complete information without do them other time.
Gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is useful for prebuilt reporting you'll reference regularly. We use it to understand product adoption, churn rates, graduation rates, etc. for these types of heavy reports with lots of data we're able to have our bi team build a tableau report and that makes it easy to track our progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau isn't always intuitive especially for an new user. For example, creating a new report is not easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a key reporting tool to track business level metrics.
