good tool for report generation
What do you like best about the product?
its fast and easy to use, can run large reports .

It's bit slow when we are running large reports

it enables meticulous control over report formatting, allowing users to create high-fidelity, brand-compliant documents for both digital and print outputs. Its template customization extends to every visual detail (fonts, spacing, branding elements), ensuring reports meet strict corporate or regulatory standards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reliant on manual XML configuration (JasperReports Studio), featuring a steep learning curve and lacking the drag-and-drop agility and interactive experience of modern BI tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex Reporting Requirements Businesses need highly formatted, "pixel-perfect" reports (e.g., financial statements, regulatory documents) that require precise control over layout, branding, and data presentation. Manually designing these is time-consuming and error-prone.
Benefits:
Reuse layouts, styles, and components (charts, tables) to generate new reports in minutes instead of coding from scratch.
Users dynamically filter data (e.g., date ranges, regions) without redesigning the entire report.
Pull data from mixed sources (e.g., MySQL + Salesforce) into a single dashboard, eliminating manual data stitching.

Robust Reporting and Visualization with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the Data Visualization and Reporting, especially the use of HTML5 charts. We had the requirement for Heatmaps, which got achieved with the inclusion of table elements and dynamic reports. The setup was quite easy, and regular responses from the support portal helped a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if we had more ways to explore, we could expose the Dashboards out of the JRS along with the filters of that particular Dashboards. Also, currently, we do not have the second level drill for a dashboard, it would be good if we have that feature for the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jaspersoft to generate reports for understanding market trends and create dashboards as per client requirements. It provides powerful data visualization with HTML5 charts and heatmaps, allowing for dynamic reports and interactive filters.
Highly Effective for Custom Reports, Needs Export Enhancement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jaspersoft makes it easy to develop server-based reports, Studio-based reports, subreports, charts, and dashboards by connecting multiple data sources. I appreciate the drag-and-drop feature for selecting columns, which saves me from writing big lines of code, and the ability to export reports in the required format easily. I really enjoy the Studio Charts, Dashboards, and custom reporting capabilities because they allow me to design flexible, visual, and interactive reports and charts. Custom reporting is especially important as it lets me build customized layouts, data combinations, concatenations, and calculated fields. Additionally, the ease of connecting to multiple databases is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can say the exporting feature. Because we have restricted only 200,000 records to get exported. This makes duplication of exporting works. If Jaspersoft supports larger export volumes or offers a more easy way to automatically batch and merge the exports, it might improve the multiple exporting works. Initial setup involves a bit more effort. It's setup is moderately easy, but configuring the server, setting up the datasource, and also setting the permissions makes us have additional effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jaspersoft for server-based, Studio-based reports, Subreports, Charts, and Dashboards. It simplifies reporting with drag-and-drop, eliminating complex coding. Studio Charts and custom reporting offer flexible and interactive designs, allowing customized layouts and data combinations.
Jaspersoft PDF reports used in logistic industry
What do you like best about the product?
The format of the generated PDF reports is good, and the images are clear and sharp. We rely on it to produce daily reports at a very high frequency. Implementation is straightforward, and using the tool is simple, much like scheduling tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The development environment is not particularly user-friendly, and I often encounter numerous Java errors. On the positive side, customer support is helpful. However, integration with other platforms leaves much to be desired, and the range of features available is rather limited.

The JasperReports server by Jasper offers a good set of functionalities for our reporting needs
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides of Jaspersoft are its intuitive UI and the available customizations. The documentation is thorough and helps address new requirements with ease as it makes the implementation quite easy.
It is relatively easy to integrate with our existing products, and our customers use it frequently for their reporting needs.
Customer support is good, and they are ready to assist with any needs related to the supported versions.
