Scalable Magento2 AMI Review

What do you like best about the product?
With this AMI going to production is just a piece of cake. With a traditional server setup, it will cost days of work for the initial installation and configuration of Magento2. But with this AMI we can forget about the installation and configuration as it comes out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
With easiness comes a higher cost. That is the same situation here we have. If we opt for a traditional server setup the close will be less. That's the only con that I faced with this product. Also, there is no out-of-the-box setup/support for load balancing. That's also one point I disliked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To set up a server and make it production-ready it is a hectic job. With this AMI stack with simple button clicks your initial Magento2 server will be up and running on the cloud. That is the major problem this stack is solving.

What do you like best about the product?
Scalable Magento2 stack AMI is probably the easiest way to set up a Magento2 system. I like that I don't have to debug error after error while setting up the hosting environment. Instead, this is a one-click install and I am good to go with a working Magento2 installation. The best feature however is the scalability of the whole system provided by the AWS infrastructure. The 24 x 7 support from Amazon is also a large added benefit.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the system while setting up does not identify the correct database. I was able to quickly resolve it with help from AWS support, so it was only a minor hassle. Also, the AMI runs only on larger instances. So, the per-hour cost is a bit higher than when you setup from scratch on a Linux AMI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usually I am forced to setup the Magento2 system from scratch in a Linux AMI. Here, I don't have to find and install the packages of the right versions. It is all contained within the AMI. This is a huge timesaver when spinning up instances for development purposes. Additionally, the AMI makes sure the right environment variables are set, as this is something you might miss if you setup manually.

Database error on second step of installer:

"Database 'magento' does not exist or specified database server user does not have privileges to access this database"

If the installer isn't flawless then why bother with a pre-built AMI in the first place. Might as well start with a standard Linux image and do it myself.....

Some little problems at start up the AMI. Great and quick support at saturday/sunday to get it running well. Thanks a lot for that
