Clean and clear!
As compared to the Bitnami equivalent, this has a (more) current Ubuntu OS with a really clean and uncluttered WordPress install (2019 Theme and no plugins!) I only have a few sites/accounts to manage, so getting the Bitnami layer out of the picture eliminated a layer of login/management I don't need - I just go to the source (AWS).
Anyway, if you don't need/want Bitnami and all the extra stuff they have preconfigured, you might want to give this Symetricore AMI a try.
I feel I should address the gentleman's 2016 comment. I almost did not try this AMI because of it and I suspect I'm not the only one. I'm sure his comments were valid back then, but it is now 2019: First: Symetricore shows you how to correct any 404 issues you may happen to have after customizing permalinks: https://www.symetricore.com/?p=714 Second: I have had no issues with sFTP root access whatsoever. Third: The pub/priv keys work great with PuTTY; easy-peasy; not sure why that would not be the preferred option (but I'm all ears!) I'd expect you'd be able to change the root login method if desired (but I haven't checked this myself).
