What do you like best about the product?
Teradata is very reliable software. It manages huge amount of data where line of business can access it and have more security over data
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance compared to other databases Teradata is little bit slow. Many cloud based databases have arrived and beating the performance
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data and information is classified and secured in better way

it's an opensource distributed SQL query engine!!
What do you like best about the product?
we can run analytical query with the data sources of all size and all types , so we can use it in highly scale able systems for analytics , it's easy to integrate it with your older databases , it also provides support for java language , it provides type-1 driver for jdbc(java database connectivity) too.
What do you dislike about the product?
it provides type-1 driver of jdbc which very slow in performance, Quality Of support is not good , pricing is very high!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use it with java for analytical queries with different kind of data sources Amazon S3 , MySQL etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try get your hands dirty on it , it's a highly scale able and easy to use Query engine!!

No additional functionality above free software.

String to date conversions can be improved in teradata
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Number of rows in table with 8 billions rows in TD is done in just few seconds with low_profile and low_account rights.
There are better user-friendly options

I like that it's fairly easy to use but it has multiple limitations in terms of other providers

Limitations in terms of coding, uploading data and troubleshoots

No SQL so not as fluent as Microsoft Sql

Just querying data and joining across multiple database makes it easier to get solid datasets
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool to use for Big Data. The Answerset is very helpful for formatting your data before exporting to excel or similar tool. However it take some time to get familiar with if you are used to other tools such as Sql Server Management Studio.

I use dataset containing 350 million rows and Aster never crashes.

The ecosystem contains multiple tools such as Aster, appcenter, which makes experience shifting from one component to another.

The analytics power of the engine is impressive. It gives a lit of flexibility to the end user and the processing us lightning fast. Really good interface too.

Would have appreciated more documentation and tutoring support

The data crunching frenzy for oarfe enterprises had been well supported
Great for quick data pulls

I enjoy that with this tool I am able to pull sales, revenue, margin, conversion etc. in a matter of seconds.

The coding can be quite confusing at first but after some training it becomes easier.

This allows us to pull data very quickly. I am able to download the data in clean formats and share with my coworkers.

I think this tool is very useful for companies looking to pull data quickly.
