Great Product for Financial Companies
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, fast, simple, the reports come in different formats

Web based limitations with some reports,

SAP not very user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of information and you can customize it to suit your businesses needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very nitpicky with having to be very exact. I have to do multiple steps when it would be nice to be able to group items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage projects and use it to see the status of projects. It is a one stop shop for all the projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
customize it as much as possible.
SAP Business Objects is Okay
What do you like best about the product?
The data abilities are decent and you can get to the data you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes too long to run reports and is sometimes difficult to use multiple universes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly doing analysis for supply chain. I can get the data I need to support other departments and customers

I like that I can easily create report through an easy and familiar format.

That one application doesn't update on the other.

Who's buying what, when they are buying and what platforms are being used to search.
Business Objects
What do you like best about the product?
I like that both internal and external colleagues have user-controlled access to different folders/reports in BO. I also like the automated report feature that auto-emails reports to a set distribution list.
What do you dislike about the product?
I expect auto-distribution to be reliable, so it's annoying when reports are not received via email as expected, and there is no error message alert to prompt the database analyst troubleshoots the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to automate many operational aspects through reports that are auto-distributed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that there are quality mechanisms already in place in case reports are not running or auto-distribution as expected.
Decent system with some flaws

Customization options and the various data points you can check out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to link with other third party performance management systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Warehousing issues. Decent inventory management.
Reliable Centralized Program
What do you like best about the product?
Data is reliably in consistent locations and easy to identify. Fields give you list of values if value is unknown. Easy to see real time changes and activities. Document flow is easy to monitor and track within the doc flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Calculations can at times be inconsistent and unpredictable. System has trouble interacting with other systems if integrating multiple platforms.

Spend lots of time investigating how it will interact with other platforms if you have existing systems or implementing other platforms.

It's easy to use, the cost is less as compared to tableau or other BI products in the market and customer care is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to maintain universe layer to talk to the database, it does not talk to databases directly. If you have to add a new field in the report from the database then you have to add that particular field in universe layer which is added headache.

What do you like best about the product?
Used this at my last position. Very concise and efficient with a number of useful customizations to report to the end user. Definitely helpful in day to day operations
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit of a steeper learning curve to begin than some of the competition as well as being somewhat more expensive. Not a deal breaker by any means though.

We were using this to help manage our sales team and manage and analyze the data that came out of their normal daily activities to help inform our strategy.
