Using Knime for quick data science experiments

What do you like best about the product?
The program offers a vast amount of optionality for being able to create data science/analytics models without writing any code. It's very quick and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to find certain functionalities within the program. Additionally, it does struggle with larger datasets and seem to choke
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Knime for quick experiments to determine what type of model we will build, how it will be built and have a rough approximation for performance
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have enjoyed using this product, Knime, more so than SAS, RapidMiner and other similar visual analytics BI platforms

What do you like best about the product?
It’s capabilities to quickly sourcing data , preparing it and making it analytical rrasy
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not scaled for larger data sets. It slows down or sometimes even crash. Also it won’t integrate with all the database providers

What do you like best about the product?
The capability to design a big amount of tasks with the software, covering the proccessing of the information all way down.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the options are not exactly what i used to need to proccess the information. The fluxes have (on a certain way) a limited amount of configuration options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At my place i use it to proccess the clients information to get some knowledge about the behaviour.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Is a great option to get Knowledge from the information that goes all over your company 24/7

What do you like best about the product?
Drag and drop analysis helps faster and effective analysis flow. Graphical user interface makes it easy to plan processes and organize projects. You can work together with teams at the same time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of technical support in the free version. Costing needs to be more economical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow analysis is made simpler and effective with KNIME. We can use it with Python and R as well as integration with Weka.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly effective and easier than other alternatives such as Rapid Miner.

- Data wrangling is easily manageable
- Clear cut motions for running different models and exporting results
- Lots of different applications
- Drag and drop functionality rocks

- R function is hard to bring in
- Data / findings output formatting needs to be updated for presentations

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing of Knime is it is open source and simple GUI based platform which makes it very easy to learn and implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the GUI feature makes it very easy to implement simple models, however on the downside it is hard to build complicated models sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Knime for real-time analysis of traffic data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good to test out first if it helps for your task. It is easy to implement the initial models,

What do you like best about the product?
Great tool for predictive analytics. The examples provided with the software are a great way to learn this tool by your self.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is really difficult to prepare and clean data.

What do you like best about the product?
The data mining options, in particular the features for analysis using clustering (k-medoids, k-means, hierarchical, etc.) are extremely handy. They remove a lot of middle-man coding!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate more visualization and exporting capabilities. For instance, the ability to easily visualize the clusters produced with k-medoids, with medoids labeled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used KNIME to perform unsupervised learning on large time series data. I saved a lot of time by not having to create my own code for clustering techniques. The information on clusters+medoids exported by KNIME was easy to understand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to explore all of the features in the node repository and use the search bar. There is a lot of functionality in KNIME!

What do you like best about the product?
Knime is used for data cleaning, data manipulation and predictive modeling. We do have a lot of softwares for playing around data but everything comes with a price except knime. So, it’s a free platform to manage the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I don’t like in knime software is its interface, it’s kind of old.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I generally do all stuff related to data cleaning, data manipulation and building predictive models.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think they should implement more features in data reduction
