a revolutionary tool in DW environment
What do you like best about the product?
UI and ease of working on the tool developer-friendly. Enhancements and new features are good to have. Prompt assistance &technical support.
What do you dislike about the product?
performance issues, Due to its Huge UI burden Performance degrades and causes issues while loading more frequently compared to traditional DW Tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Loading existing legacy data to Cloud, routing the New webservices data to DW using informatica

Best Data Integration/ETL tool
What do you like best about the product?
Best ETL type data integration tool that connects to almost all types of databases. Development, Testing, and maintenance are easy to monitor. Transformation speed is pretty high.
What do you dislike about the product?
Complexity during deployment. Transformation along with data ingestion takes comparatively larger time for the immense amount of data. Blobs file handling is complex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transforming along with the data ingesting for a large amount of data that belongs to multiple databases like DB2, Oracle, MySQL, etc. Also, conversion of datatypes issue is solved too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Informatica is the best tool that helps the project in pulling data from multiple source systems and also helps in modifying it to fit any of your target systems and then pushing the data accordingly.
Great ETL Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Informatica Powercenter is a fantastic tool to handle a large volume of data. We can easily monitor jobs in it. There are lots of transformation options available. There are lots of option to connect with different sources and targets.
What do you dislike about the product?
CLOBS and BLOBS datatypes are very complex to handle. Debugging the workflows could become hard sometimes. The User Interface could be improved to some extent. Test and Automation part also needs some improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to schedule the daily migration of large volumes of data in an effective manner. It also helps in optimizing the data for various reporting tools. It provides a very smooth platform for data migration.
Incredibly faster data integration and data replication tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using this tool for more than two years for processing structured and semi-structured data into Teradata data warehouse. I have been involved in various Data Integration, Data Management, Data Migration using this, and I find the UI to be friendlier. It has a lot of components and functionalities that will help you to achieve almost everything related to transforming data.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are processing less volume of records from ODBC, then it might lag its performance. Does not have much scheduling options for the workflows. Needs additional hardware while partitioning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Migrating data from different databases, transforming the data, loading the transformed data into various dimensional tables, layers, and loads. Migration rules, development of testing of code are very easy. Re-usability of various objects are helpful and its performance while handling large volume of data is unmatched.

What do you like best about the product?
Best thing I liked about Informatica is its mapping options and user interface it is providing. It provides many ways to implement your job. The performance and data transformation options it is providing are at its best. The connections and compatibility with different databases is so good. One can easily understand Informatica because of its simplicity yet standard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I felt like everything we have to do on our own and it is not doing any automatic things and we have to consider many things while developing which will take our tome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Informatica power center as ETL tool for data warehousing. Mainly I have loaded and transformed data from different sources into single Teradata data warehouse. I used this to extract the data to flatfiles too.

What do you like best about the product?
It is straightforward to use Informatica Power Centre, and it is very intiutive. We can pull files of various formats and styles, process those files to fetch the data, and then modify the data present in the file according to the requirement. It is pretty easy to schedule the maestro job and run it any time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often, it is a little challenging to read log files and find out the error. Transaction rework takes a longer time, and the cost to implement a new design is high. The customer support is not very quick and takes a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving a lot of data transfer from various applications to the centralized data warehouse. It is a universal Connectivity to All Data Sources. Besides, it is the centralized Data Quality application for most of the applications.
The rules , reference data, and processes can be easily reused for all types of data integration projects, including data migration, data consolidation, and MDM.

I don't have a dislike, but occasionally, there are clunky processes.

We solve workflow processes and execute ETL troubleshooting.
Power Center Review
What do you like best about the product?
It is a good ETL tool. Very good features are exist in the Power cneter compared to the IICS Ex: Comparision between the folders, Mapapings, Session,Workflow and also very stable application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Three different interfaces (Power centr Developer, Powercenter Workflow manager and Monitor) instead of a single consolidated one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Only problem with Powercenter is during the support issue, when ever we need any technical support we need to ZIP the code and send it to Informatica support for checking.
