What do you like best about the product?
It has been very reliable. We have had very little downtime in our production environment because the platform is so stable.
What do you dislike about the product?
We dislike having to install thick client software in order to view running workflows and design them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to transfer data between our Oracle and Microsoft databases easily.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and connectivity with different databases .It has reduced a lot of legacy coding which we need to write manually. It is very easy and simple to use to the end user.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing user will face difficulty is the intial set up. It is not as easy as using it after installation. One professional is necessary to start with the set up of this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to use this tool for data integration. It has everything that what we were looking for earlier.The scalability and stability of this product is very impressive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It depends on the size of the organization and the size of data they are trying to do integrate. For a company which is affordable of this product I can say go for it.Totally,I can give 10 out of 10 rating for this product.

What do you like best about the product?
- It is one of the most powerful and user friendly ETL(Extraction, Transformation and Loading) tool.
- Very easy to use - drag and drop
- integration with other applications is easy.
- Good tool to manage legacy data and to make compatible with modern applications.
- Good team of community members and support analysts make it very helpful to debug any issues
What do you dislike about the product?

- the licensing is very expensive But it is manageable, it's value for money.
- Every time we need to pay extra amount if we want any extra plugin for other applications to be activated. Sometimes it appears very slow in data processing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- to accomplish the ETL process from different sources
- availability of plugins (integrators, service providers, etc.) to connect to different applications
- to make deployments seemless
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- i highly recommend this ETL tool over other tools but only if you could afford for it
- they have plugins to integrate with most of the applications out there

Informatica Powercenter provides the real time data integration services
Its highly intuitive and customizable that speeds up the development process
It comes with full suit of data management components including data integration, data quality, data governance etc
Seamless integration with informatica MDM and data masking tools

Its a bit costly compared to other cheaper alternatives

various tools in it, which makes workflow development easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
If the PC configuration is not good, then it lags a lot

Used it to solve the data sparse over different databases and accumulated it in one database using different transformations. It helped in building reports on top of centralized data.

What do you like best about the product?
One of major reason for Informatica etl tool success is its capability of enabling Integration. Informatica also leverage the same integration model. Easy training and tool availability has made easy resource availability for software industry, where else other etl tools are way behind in this aspect. Informatica comes with internal scheduler unlike many other etl tools where one need to use third party scheduler.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transaction rework costs. Cost incurred in implementing new systems.Delays In delivery data to decision maker which has lost many customers due to poor service. It allows to use Persistent cache, which gives you performance boost by saving time in building the lookup while session run but it still takes the same time like a normal lookup for using the lookup data during session runtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The productivity of the environment. We get more done faster and more repeatably. The Data Profiling tool now has been enhanced with really nice data visualization capabilities to make it far easier and faster to understand your data and it’s relationships. Another addition is 100 free Analyst Tool seats to all editions of PowerCenter. Informatica has been driving agile data integration development based on the idea of a development team made up of a developer and a business analyst.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, definitely go ahead to learn more and more of informatica tool. If planning to play with data, then definitely this is the platform to begin.

What do you like best about the product?
I mostly like working with the informatica designer as it is very easy to get source and targets by connecting to the server. There are variety of transformations available to clean the data and you just have to find the right one.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime when I run the workflow and if there are some errors, especially those associated with date time conversion, informatica does not tell you why actually the error occurred. You have to go to the session log and google the error to find more about how to solve it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly I use informatica for data migration from DB2 to MSL Server. Since the new system queries the SQL Server, using informatica has helped us achieve that goal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering using a different database management system, such as moving from legacy systems or mainframe to modern RDBMS, you definitely need informatica.

Informatica power center is one of the pioneer in ETL tool and we can integrate with any of the source systems and load the same any systems

Nothing is there from my end to dislike it and it's very flexible and advanced to extract data and transfer as per business needs

Through olap system we can give data to end users to do forecast their business
