Swiftype Site Search Review
What do you like best about the product?
Coming across Swiftype at the beginning of learning how to code made the fact that it was easy to get up and running my favorite part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Non-tech related, I do feel that the cost per month, for our site, is a little steep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to see what people are searching for helps us to make sure we are focusing on the correct content to engage our users.
Great search for customers to find what they need.
What do you like best about the product?
The relevancy and the immediacy of results via the dropdown on the front end.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to exclude people from within the company in the analytics renders this near useless as a small company. Also, it is not possible to open multiple results from a search in different tabs, however, this may be down to the way the developer installed it. Installation and set-up was fairly buggy, but again it might have more to do with the developer's process and customization on our site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We carry a large variety of products and it can be difficult to find items in the various categories, so good quality search is vital.

You have metrics and dashboards out of the box! Mining data and taking decisions is easier

Components integration for certain front end technologies are out of date, it`s easy to use but not so flexible

What do you like best about the product?
Swiftype supports frontend-indexing. No matter the system behind your sites, the Swiftype crawler will find the content and add it to your desired index. This is a huge advantage compared to other enterprise onsite search solution where you need to implement API oder Database connectors.
You can also define the content and the content weight that gets crawled. It is possible to send metadata so that search results can be enriched with data like price and availability.
This is a very good concept for most small/mid size companies like us.

What do you dislike about the product?
Because of the frontend indexing new content is not added in realtime. However you are able to manually reindex your sites if you don't want to wait for the regular period to do so. Depending on the plan you have choosen this can be done multiple times or once.
We disliked the fact that pricing raised in the past. But it is still worth the money.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One onsite search for all our Systems (Content-Managemnt-System, E-commerce Shop, Support-Center, Landingpages, Microsites) with little configuration needed.

Easy implementation, customization and good reports.

It's easy to implement and customize/improve
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to customize/adjust the weighting of search of accuracy via admin site and/or adding the custmized meta tag.
What do you dislike about the product?
If we can get support in Japanese, it may be better for us in Japan.

Before we use swiftype, it was very difficult to add the filter function for user.

It's very easy to implement for us and provide the filtering function for users.

What do you like best about the product?
We love that users can quickly search our site and see results as they type.

I think finding the balance between speed and depth is what we're finding to be the most tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed the ability to implement search on our site. Swiftype does that quickly and effectively, making it customizable with API integration.

The weighting controls -- I can change the relevance of certain things within search to make sure my users get what they are looking for
What do you dislike about the product?
The system definitely has a bar you have to get over to be a power user. Part of that is inherent to how powerful it is, but still -- I couldn't just hand it to someone on my team without extra training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our users/members can actually find things they are looking for and don't have to call/email in to get a link. It's made our member interaction much smoother.

Get a demo, it's worth your time.

You have to re index sometimes to refresh
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has solved a lot of our search problems and we are so happy to using them. It has allowed us to offer so many other options for search to our customers.

I think you should def consider it.

What do you like best about the product?
I most enjoy being able to curate content exactly as we deem appropriate. In the past we've had a frustrating experience getting our results to rank in the order we deem most appropriate for our agents and customers, if we can get it to rank at all in some cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've not seen eye to eye with a former customer experience manager who was unwilling to provide us data I was using to justify Swiftype's continued existence in our environment. The experience left me with a very bad taste in my mouth for Swiftype's ability to assign the right people to set their customers up for success.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're working to reduce click through rates, result rankings, and overall qualitative feedback from our agent community.
