What do you like best about the product?
We migrated VPN solutions around 4 years ago and identified OpenVPN as the ideal solution for us. It ticked a lot of boxes for us, particularly with regards to 2FA and a zero trust approach to user's access with profiles. Pricing is very competitive too. Customer support is very good too, I recently had to contact them about an issue following a Ubuntu upgrade and received helpful and prompt responses
What do you dislike about the product?
Some management tasks are command line only and can be tricky to locate initially but there are plenty of support resources available
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OpenVPN provides my business with a secure VPN that is easy for staff to use

What do you like best about the product?
Administration interface is nice. Coming from a console only OpenVPN installation, it is much easier to set things up using a UI. I had to use customer support once and they were fast and helped to resolve the problem quickly. We use it on daily basis to access restricted resources and we had very little problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat complicated deployment in Azure. I would have expected a better experience there, but part of that is definitely due to my inexperience in network configuration. Differences between the community OpenVPN and this product caused some confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved the problem of yearly re-configuring the OpenVPN server on our EdgeRouter. Distribution of the VPN profiles is a huge help and the MFA option is a must have feature in these times.

It can be used in different devices. Minimal setup required to get it working

One tedious task is dealing with SSL certificates and not a a clear straight forward way of doing it automatically.

Resources hidden under a private network and allowing people to access the private network.

OpenVPN Access Server solves several key problems, which have been beneficial for my use:

Secure Remote Access: It provides a secure VPN connection, allowing access to a private network from anywhere, which is essential for remote work. This benefits me by ensuring that my connection is safe, even when accessing sensitive information from outside the office.

Ease of Management: The centralized management console makes it easy to monitor and control access to the network, which reduces the complexity of handling multiple connections. This has made managing my VPN setup much more efficient.

Scalability: OpenVPN Access Server allows easy scaling, whether for a small team or large organization, providing flexibility for different sizes of operations. This is useful if I need to expand network access for additional users in the future.

High Performance: With its ability to handle a large number of concurrent users without compromising performance, OpenVPN ensures that remote connections remain fast and stable, which is crucial for maintaining productivity.

What do you like best about the product?
Once its setup and configured it is a very solid and reliable secure VPN that is easy to use and integrate into your networks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup is a bit involved and requires a Linux box to run on. Updating the software and Linux system does take some time and Linux knowledge. If a user changes their MFA device, ie Phone, it takes some administration to setup the new MFA prompt to add the new device for the end user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps to secure connections to our AWS environment. It is easier and more reliable than what we've had in the past as far as VPN software goes.

Nach der Ersteinrichtung, wenig Arbeit. Läuft stabil und schnell als VM im Failovercluster von Microsoft.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nichts in deutscher Sprache. Unterschiedliches Niveau der Supportmitarbeiter von OpenVPN.

1 Zentrale und 20 Baustellen mit jeweils 3-10 Mitarbeiter.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to deploy and manage, great cost savings and saved us the certificate management overhead. Multi platform support is the best thing about it, client runs on all laptop and desktop systems without any issues, UX is pleasant.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is not very easy to manage and figure out. I had to rely on trial and error due to incomprehensible and overly complex documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Runs on all employee devices without any problem, server is quite robust. Security is solid and meets compliance requirements.

Installation war relativ einfach und lässt viele Einstellungen zu.
Kundensupport wurde bisher nicht benötigt,da es zuverlässig lief.
Bei uns ist der OpenVPN Access Server täglich im Einsatz.

Teils könnten die Einstellungen etwas vereinfachter oder besser verständlich formuliert sein.
