What do you like best about the product?
I have used Postgres SQL extensively for the past few years and it is few of cost effective scalable RDBMS that runs very smooth with web applications specially with Django backend. This RDBMS can be tuned for performance quickly and offers amazing support for custom functions.

This RDBMS can be scaled quickly and is available in cloud services like Amazon RDS which can make this database manageable. The error messages in the RDBMS is very clearly laid out and I just love the way it provides flexibility of using custom SQL workbenches.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have loved my experience with Postgres SQL and the user community for this RDBMS is amazing. I have faced issues in reading documentation for Postgres but online community has always helped in getting my issues resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostgresSQL has been a goto database management system in our projects because of its flexiblity and seamless integration with Django. I have been using PostgresSQL extensively for data storage and analysis. This RDBMS is really cost effective and we use it in Amazon RDS for production instance.

Great database with mature capabilities

  • April 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has a rich and mature feature set where things like referential integrity weren't an afterthought (compared to MySQL). Documentation is also excellent, and modern ANSI SQL syntax is well supported.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not as widespread as MySQL is, so it can be harder to find people that are strong DBA skills or know the specifics of its internal workings, but it isn't that bad either. It's not like it's some unknown DBMS either, it's simply not as widespread as MySQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to store all of our application's data in a resilient and secure way and be accessible with standard programming languages and development tools such as Java, NodeJS, etc.

Actually, I am looking database that is faster, stable, reliable, and as well as provide me with better security so before this, I am using another product that is similar to PostgreSQL but because of the leak of features that I have mentioned earlier, PostgreSQL is preferable for me.

The most powerful, feature-rich open-source relational database management system

  • February 22, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The main plus point about PostgreSQL is that it's an open-source R-DBMS that is very reliable, making it a first choice for startups and other organizations. Also, it has gained a high reputation for its high performance while handling high volumes of datasets very efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I feel that's a downside in PostgreSQL is that its GUI functionality is very limited and not that user-friendly, making it challenging for first-timers to use its complete functionalities, especially when they are not used to the command-line interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostgreSQL helped us while working on a web application as the backend database management system, which was built on top of Java the main reason I chose this was that it was open-source and had a vast community, which was needed when we got stuck in some problem. Also because of the flexibility and its performance, it was the best option for us.
