OpenVPN for a small college
What do you like best about the product?
One of the easiest VPN products to set-up and use for our school. We tried a few before settling for OpenVPN. Even our senior non-tech teachers did not have problems installing the client on their machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost isn't the lowest around. But we traded cost for ease of use. Its no use paying for something super cheap but having to hire a consultant to implement it.
Our internal support team was able to set this up and deploy easily by reading the instructions thoroughly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our school subscribed to OpenVPN to provide a private and secured way to access our older intranet-based software during the pandemic. Since it worked very well during the pandemic and people already know how to use it, we thought it was best to leave it as it is to provide an extra layer of security even if the people who need to access our legacy software is on premise anyway.

We are a SaaS Global Company & we wanted to use a VPN connection for our employees internally. We did evaluate couple of tools in the space mainly Cisco & Open VPN. Costs and maintainance of OpenVPN is far lower than cisco. It has all the features that an ISO aduit would require. Trust worthy tool & support is excellent
My favourite VPN solution!

My favourite thing about OpenVPN is how simple and quick it is to get started, plus the integrations it offers out of the box for the with such an easy setup is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that the server can't run on Windows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem we had was using an older out of date VPN method which didn't support modern authentication and had very little features. Now with OpenVPN we have Azure authentication with MFA enforcement, tighter security rules and NAT capabilities.
Great project but definitely not enterprise-ready yet
What do you like best about the product?
Pros:
- easy to admin and use
- most platforms supported
- supports per-user and per-group customizations (like auth and routing), SAML and custom auth
- responsive support team

What do you dislike about the product?
Cons:
- in a cluster configuration it's impossible to customize all member servers from a single interface - admin UI switches you to a certain server and then you need to switch back to the cluster configuration; can't see all connected users (have to switch between cluster members)
- you can't restrict vpn connections to certain IPs/subnets for a user or group
- can't tweak vpn connections to fight against DPIs
- support team is responsive but helpless - all our feature requests were ignored by their developers
- no publicly available development roadmap
- inability to track vpn user activities as compliance requires

Reliable VPN Service That My Company Is Using To Let Employees Work From Home
What do you like best about the product?
What I love most is how easy it is to use! When I’m at home and need to access my company’s internal network, it takes just a few seconds to connect. Unlike other software products we use, the licenses aren’t tied to the number of employees, but rather to the number of concurrent users. Since our employees typically work from home just one or two days a week, this approach makes much better use of our licenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I remember that installing and getting it to run for the first time was quite a hassle, but that was over six years ago. I’m confident they’ve made significant improvements since then.

Smooth expirience
What do you like best about the product?
Works out of the box. The documentation is up to date and has good step by step how to's to get started.
I installed the version for Azure and was ready to go within half an hour. The admin portal is well structured and responsive. I set up a site2site vpn and the customer support was fantastic, friendly, quick and know their stuff.
The server is in daily use and the site2site integrated seemlessly into our environment.
