While Kong API Gateway offers robust API management, there are a few aspects that could be improved. which has posed challenges for our team. Additionally, Enhancements in [areas of improvement] would contribute to an even better experience with Kong API Gateway.

Rapid Installation and easy to configure for basic API requirements
What do you like best about the product?
Effortless Setup: The quick start guide provides a seamless onboarding experience and with a single bash command you are up and running with Kong API Gateway.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not specific uptil now. I am using OSS version and I feel all my requirements are catered through it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kong API Gateway solves the problem solved by any API Gateway like:
- Security of the exposed APIs
- Monitoring, analytics and Observability of the APIs
- Rate Limiting
- Traffic Control
- Service Discovery and Load Balancing
The best part is Kong lets these do easily through easy to use configurations and settings in the UI

Amazing technology solving real world problems
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface and implement in a microservice based architecture. I have been using it for a few months and I am able to appreciate the vast amount of features it provides to ease the entire software development process.
What do you dislike about the product?
While there aren't many things I dislike about the Kong API Gateway, the documentation, migration and upgrades are a few pain points

kong with terraform
What do you like best about the product?
We've had to contact support in the past with upgrade issues who were really helpful and responsive to the questions and issues we had at the time. Overall kong has been really nice to use for scaling out to our needs with us not noticing any performance decreases over peak load.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using kong with terraform seems to be missing some features and the terraform docs could be a little more clear with more outputs/attributes listed. However, it seems moving away from terraform might be the better solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've found the monitoring side of kong super helpful in the past and relatively easy to integrate into logstash

Kong gateway provides ready to use api gateway solutions that helps with all essential requirements like load balance, routing, rate limiting and authentication etc.

It's very easy to use and build on top of most popular products so getting technical team is easy

Open source community should be allowed to provide connectors to it

It bridge the legacy and microservices intercommunication purpose and managing single interface for the company
Kong Still Best For API Gateway
What do you like best about the product?
High availability, High scale, lightweight, easy to customize, and multiple deploy mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of programming support (Just native with Lua). Must improve the monitoring function of commerce products. The integration with external monitoring systems is still not stable.

Kong API Gateway helps our company build a center API Gateway. So we can easily manage and maintain API endpoints. Enhance control and security.

The best one is to get a single view and wider window of analysis It helps in giving diffrent persona to diffrent security aspects.

Some p99 latency are not that accurate.More statistical techniques can be used to estimate.

It helps in analysis and planning for the upcoming quaters about diffrent API security policies
Kong: The easiest tool for managing a network
What do you like best about the product?
Kong is a highpowered and highly customizeable Nginx service which has been given a lot of attention when it was being created. Kong has some of the best documentation of any application I've ever deployed. Kong also offers lots of options when it comes to configuration, setting up configurations is super easily with the provided DecK tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kong is just an application designed to get you to pay for the advanced featues. Authentication plugins should not be a paid for premium feature and should be available for all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Microservices and endpoint management when done through Nginx raw configurations. Having simple configurations wich allow you to deploy services saves many headaches.
