  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The convinience in accessing the required branches and ease of use for different version controlling makes it unique and special. Ease of navigation across repositories.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation which was provided was not explained in detail and can be improved. The cost to upgrade to a paid plan is a bit on the higher side and of reduced it can be the most cost effective in tbe market too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using an advanced version control tool makes your life easier in many ways. One such thing is the ease of collaboration with different teams on different projects at the same time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can definitely go for it if you are looking for a latest version control system with all the noticable features

Good tool for project management in localization.

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that all changes get recorded in the history with who and what time the person made each change so it's easier for a whole team to follow who is doing what.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the cleanest UI or the most intuitive, but when you get the hang of it it's pretty useful to have that many options. I don't use its entire capacity in localization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We keep track of projects in the localization area but also across departments. It is able to keep everyone connected and updated and to include information in your preferred form.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab has the potential to do version control, automation, management tool, and much more on a single platform. It has evolved a lot in the past couple of years and has become really mature platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is quite not good compared to the competitors. Sometimes it's confusing or unusable. It takes time to get habituated with the interface but once you are familiar it's good enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Source code management, Code review, Quality checks of the code, CI/CD automation, general analytics of the project, Issue tracking and management, Deployment on multiple environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool if you want to do CI/CD along with source code management

Simplified and collaborative way in every phase of the project

  • February 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab helps you maintain different commits of code based on one or multiple applications maintained under one account. It helps the author and the reviewer to understand and maintain all the branches available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automated commits can be difficult to review and accept from multiple users/developers when merging into the main branch. This causes loss of code in possibilities where the developer has missed out and erased a certain logic
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gitlab has always helped in reviewing and helping code readability so as to merge into a branch that goes into production. The main benefit is that before releasing the code you can always create multiple code instance according to the version history

What do you like best about the product?
As the basic and generic part is git, which is perfectly placed here. But apart from it, the CI-CD and the ease of giving different roles and access to a different users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot really say I dislike anything but it would be really great if GitLab can provide good integration and deployment for nodejs react and Python-based applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm maintaining a couple of repositories in the most amazing problem I am able to solve is providing different roles to defend users and protecting a particular branch. Apart from this the continuous deployment and integration is the best part which I'm using to deploy a couple of applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amazing tool and you must give it a try before going to any other. And it is really amazing in providing in different access to the users.

Best static hosting site

  • February 06, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful about GitLab is it is very useful for the static side hosting which are like Jekyll and extra and it is free for version controlling also and the beginners can also easily do that.
What do you dislike about the product?
The disadvantage is in git lab we are unable to use it for server-side rendering and some functions like JavaScript and those all and the main disadvantage in this is it will depend on the user interface not the user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems I solved using git lab are the teamwork usages tracking the commits of the team it is easy to manage who did what the things and what they did too easily and for version controlling ones.
