What do you like best about the product?
The speed is incredible but there so much to be thought about for it to be mainstream.

Ubuntu is coolest system out there, the customisation capability is incredible too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many apps are compatible, the most used apps should be at least, like word, excel, Photoshop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed is definitely one of the strongest point
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. If you can make it work for you the. It's the best. Just depends what you use it for.

Fantastic OS X Replacement

  • November 06, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
From going from OS X to Ubuntu, I was surprised about how easy the transition was.

Everything you need is immediately there, or available in Ubuntu Software
What do you dislike about the product?
If you’re not expecting to ever touch terminal, then don’t be afraid. Most things can be achieved without it, but the rest is a quick google away. Embrace it and you won’t go back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu is extremely quick and light weight in comparison to Windows (which is more of a headache) and even OS X
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a go and you won’t look back

The unix base system allows me to run and mody anything in the OS which is a great advantage.

Best software ever used

  • November 05, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu is an open source software.it is user friendly. It's good distribution for beginners.one of the most exciting feature of the software is that it can also be used for servers.it is highly customisable and has a software centre full of apps.it is more resource friendly. Can even run on older softwares. It has graphical user interface therefore can even used by non programmers.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the most disadvantage is that most of the tasks can only work efficiently in command line only. Another one is it doesn't have update like windows. It's interface is not eye-catching. One other interesting thing is that it doesn't have back button. It has some malfunctioning with its wireless connection
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using this software for python development. Can be effectively used for python program development.can easily implement machine learning programs. Ubuntu can be easily used for python development than windows. It includes only few line of codes for python development

Perfect OS to achieve full control of your privacy and to work with sensitive informations

  • November 03, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can control every settings of the workstation where ubuntu is installed, very useful to harden the workstation with an elevated security profiles to prevent unauthorized access to your data and to prevent automatic updated or other types of unwanted communications with external server without having to disconnect the network card from the LAN (very bad if you have to use a network printer, network storage or something similar)
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't dislike Ubuntu, it's free and can help you and your company saving a lot of money without buying professional and expensive firewalls, antivirus and other kinds of software to protect your data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
After our Windows machines were infected by a ransomware corrupting our data we started using Ubuntu and Ubuntu server as OS for some workstations where we process payments data, customers informations and invoices: this was the best choice, no virus infections and no worrying about unwanted opened applications ports.

Linux stable, secure and easy to use for all users.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Ubuntu because it is the best Linux distribution, I have many programs in the software center, a lot of documentation on the Internet, the updates always keep my system updated and stable.
This system has antivirus, it is perfect for removing viruses from a flash drive or hard drive connected to a Windows PC.
The installation is very simple and the creation of partitions on the disk is simple, I like this option to decide how to distribute my space.
It is compatible with many Debian programs, a very robust and powerful system but difficult to use, Ubuntu makes it easy for me to work on my home and office PC. Play audio, video, send email and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
The updates of Ubuntu versions have errors, you have to do a clean installation and this takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this system for web service from my PC, it is easy to use with a pleasant, stable graphical interface with perfect server functions for all web services, proxy, email, NAS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is free, works perfectly on PC and has compatibility with all hardware, a clean installation of this system will leave your PC ready to work and surf the Internet for sure.

Opensource Gateway to OS

  • October 30, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to install [reinstall], has LTS versions, and The software compatibility is great, nearly every software which officially supports Linux supports natively Ubuntu. The Open Source Community is very large for Ubuntu and is helpful most of the time. The support is excellent and almost all the linux applications are made available to ubuntu first. Applications made on linux on other distros are definitely made to work on ubuntu and thus it has become one of the best platforms of the world. Best part is you can customize the OS as per your requirement as it lets us dive into its UI and other stuff unlike windows although users that do prefer to use windows can use windows subsytem feature and ubuntu in it to do the scripting if they do not want to use the Ubuntu UI. Thus we can enjoy both windows features and Ubuntu features in Windows subsytem mode.t
What do you dislike about the product?
Ubuntu is more commercial and has a history of pulling off antics like the integrated amazon search that goes against everything that free software/open source stands for.Ubuntu tries to do some innovating things, but they end up more like experiments. "Hey, let's throw something only at our user base, and see if it works!" It doesn't work that way with communities, especially with Linux community. Also Ubuntu 18 on the Gnome rework caused a lot of issues for Lenovo laptop users as their bios got issues due to installing it causing many problems to the end users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's one of the best OS that is free for use and has one of the easiest installation needed. Need to install a package, simple install using commands like apt-get install "package name". Windows users face a lot of issues regarding installation of various programs having to set paths and maintain them with different versions. Shell scripting makes it easier to set paths of various software versions. Windows at times needs an executable file for running applications unlike Linux users. Even microsoft has added Ubuntu under Windows Subsytem for linux which is very good to research into.
Ubuntu helps alot of students get into programming in the easiest way possible with the use of bash scripting, and various other tools available for linux allowing a free way to learn amazing technologies without paying too much. Even steam is now supporting Linux users and many games are being deployed which is an amazing step for increasing the user base
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ubuntu is getting a great user interface and improving day by day year by year with each of its release and since it also has an LTS release its never gonna be an issue to learn to code here and deploy something as it will provide support for atleast 5 years to that Ubuntu version of release.

What do you dislike about the product?
High level gaming are not supported this one thing hurts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ubuntu as the best operating system

  • October 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is one of the most robust, stable and fast operating systems on the market.
It is austere, it works up to 386
Memory management prevents application errors from stopping the kernel.
It is multitasking and multi-user: This essential feature is in Unix since its conception.
Supports a variety of graphic environments (KDE, GNOME, XFCE ...)
There are thousands of free programs adapted to many different purposes and available on the internet for use with GNU / Linux
It allows you to surf the Internet and connect networked machines naturally.
Almost any Unix application can be used under Ubuntu.
Large amount of free documentation, although not always translated
What do you dislike about the product?
The freedom of copy and modification does not allow the use of GNU with all the freedom I need to provide services without relying on third parties.
To be able to download from the internet, the price of distributions must remain competitive and therefore it is a fair price but not free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work every day with this system integrated in my computer, the configuration options allow me to integrate it with all my software tools, the programs work spectacularly. Fast in all applications as well as programs that I use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great versatility and great speed when using the computer. I recommend any user to try this operating system without equal, over time you will appreciate it and you will see improved performance in the workplace.
