Sitecore Experience
What do you like best about the product?
We never had any major issues with Search after we moved to SearchStax. The search was a major concern previously with the on-prem solr instance. Love the support team, always available to answer questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
We recently received error notifications from SeacrhStax and it was taken care of by the support team. It would have been better if details were shared around the error with us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Site search for now but want to understand AI features you have implemented on your end.
as a Service
What do you like best about the product?
PaaS offering for search tech, goes well with our Sitecore PaaS environment. Although not invested in yet, Studio looks very good for search optimisation.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are not using it to its full potential yet, so hard to find faults as yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now our search engine solution where we need search, and in the format we are after: PaaS. Not fully invested in search as yet, once this starts I can foresee a lot of internal demand to do more with it. The main initial reason for investing is spec-based product search of our vary varied catalogue to assist customer and internal self-serve (it takes a lot of time for our staff to learn how to sell our products)
8/10 for me, friendly, quick service
What do you like best about the product?
1. The quick response SLA
2. Cloud dashboard is clean and summarizes everything
3. Capable to compete with other search service (Azure Solr, ELK, etc)
4. Good technical documentation and explanation

What do you dislike about the product?
1. It is quite hard to integrate with mongodb-connector
2. Searchstax online dashboard does not filter based on ssXXXXX, which can be tedious if we want to filter based on this

Responsive Support, Helpful Troubleshooting Docs, Plugin Helpful But Needs More Frequent Updating
What do you like best about the product?
Support is responsive and very helpful - even with setup questions
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup documentation for use with Sitecore is slightly unclear about different scenarios. Sitecore Plugin tool can be unclear to use and finicky. Should allow trial accounts on existing user accounts (don't require a dummy email address to create a trial account).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduce direct maintenance/support responsibility of required Solr instances for Sitecore.
SeachStax Review
What do you like best about the product?
The SearchStax team has been extremely responsive to our unique custom requirements and last minute changes. They are always friendly and professional. We haven't presented them with a challenge yet that they couldn't solve.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are on the east coast, their technical team is on the west which creates occasional scheduling issues. They are as flexible as I could hope but it does create occasional issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex indexing with 5-6 data sources, faceting, prmototions, customized weighting, filtering, sorting, custom result displays.
Searchstax is Awesome
What do you like best about the product?
Support from the searchstax team is the best, they are always available
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think of any at this time. May be Java pieces that slows down when the traffic is heavy on website
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Search and Sitemaps are really good and the new version of Solr is fully integrated. solr9 is super good.
Sitecore 10 Upgrade with SearchStax - Smooth Sailing
What do you like best about the product?
We were tasked with a major upgrade from Sitecore 9.x to 10.x, with this came a shift to SOLR Cloud from Azure Search Indexes.
The shift to SOLR from Azure was very smooth as we decided to go ahead and engage with the Customer Success SearchStax Team and Onboarding team.
The support team were responsive and gave references to a vast knowledgebase which allowed us to pull off the upgrade within a short timeframe without a hitch.
Their experience with the Sitecore platform was key to the smooth process and we have found the shift to SearchStacks beneficial when it comes to search speeds and sorting functionality.
Would recommend engaging the customer success team if undertaking any large projects, as it was good to check in periodically as to issues experienced and stepts as to resolve. Identifying whether it is the application based issue or otherwise a limitation with the Service provided by SearchStax.

What do you dislike about the product?
There were some minor teething issues with regards to timezone, however we were able to come up with a working arrangement after the first few weeks.
Otherwise there was little issue encountered.
Otherwise there was little issue encountered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Indexing with Azure had some limitations as to funcitonality, we decided to shift to SOLR and SearchStax was recommended by our business partners in Sitecore space. Indexing speeds have improved and we also find that we are no longer experiencing some indexing issues that was occurring previously with Azure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely engage the Customer Success Team
Prepurchase also provided big discounts.
They were flexible in enabling deployments based on our development timelines so that we weren't stuck paying for anything we weren't using.

Excellent service
What do you like best about the product?
We switched to SearchStax and SOLR from Azure Search when we upgrade Sitecore from 9.2 to 10.1. We xperienced:
1. Excellent on boarding process.
2. Weekly check in meetings leading up to go-live.
3. Fast resoltion of issues and answers to questions.
4. 24/7 support.
5. More accurate ordering or seach items than Azure search.
6. Consistant search results.
7. Faster search results.

What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't experienced too much we've disliked but if I were to be picky:
1. We'd like the ability to clear the search indexes on our own. Our Dev environment was under specked (probably our fault), and we kept running out of disk space, meaning our rebuilds failed.
2. The ability for anyone in our organisation to view the details of any support tickets logged by anyone within our organisation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for our course seach page, newsroom articles and vaious other seach components.
It is very stable.
What do you like best about the product?
I like it as I don't need to manage the service. The search tax created all the instance for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if it can make an installation package to easy to install in sitecore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't need to support on-prem environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support solr in on-prem environment is very complicated, it is much easier to use cloud service.
