SearchStax is the best hosted Solr option for Drupal & Acquia
What do you like best about the product?
SearchStax has been a key partner in implementing search on our Acquia site. The easy of use allowed us to quickly swap out our old Solr provider for their implementation. This allowed us to easily replace what we had to start without having to re-engineer what we had for the experience. We were then able to take our time and by using their starter kits we were able to engineer a new decoupled search experience that was light years ahead of what we had before and we were able to see dramatic improvements. Our click-thru-rate increased over 30% and the number of folks that were using the search almost doubled, increasing our overall time on page. The team is easy to work with, the support is great, it's been a great partnership.
What do you dislike about the product?
We haven't found any yet, the typical spots where companies would have issues don't really show here. Support is great, resources are great, no issues.

Easy to use site search solution
What do you like best about the product?
Searchstax is really easy to use, the interface makes it simple for non-technical users to not only configure search parameters but also see how search is performing to find areas of improvement.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I have lots of customizations to my SOLR configuration, it may not map 1:1.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic and advanced site search. Before Searchstax, I had no visibility into site searches nor could my marketing team members manage the search, it was always an IT task.

What do you like best about the product?
We integrate SearchStax for clients who need high-performing, scalable search without overcomplicating the stack. Their team feels like a true partner: responsive, collaborative, and invested in outcomes. Solid docs and clear APIs make our job easier, and we can move faster without sacrificing quality. They’ve helped us deliver complex search experiences that align with tight timelines and evolving client needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s a bit of a learning curve for teams less familiar with Solr or advanced search, but nothing that can’t be overcome with their support and resources. Over time, the ramp-up has improved and is trending in the right direction.

SearchStax helps us simplify complex search deployments for clients who need scalable, fast, and secure experiences. By eliminating the overhead of managing Solr infrastructure ourselves, we can focus on user experience and integrations, speeding up timelines, reducing risk, and improving long-term maintainability. It lets us deliver reliable, enterprise-grade search without heavy internal resource investment, which is critical when supporting higher ed, government, and large-scale public sites that demand strong performance, uptime, and strict security. We can deploy faster and still tailor the experience to each client’s needs.

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy not needing to directly manage a solr cluster. They can be a bit tedious to setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall I like the program. One thing I do find a little difficult is price quoting. It always seems to take longer than I think it will.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solr cluster setup mostly. We spin them up often and not managing the servers is a great benefit.
Great Platform with Lots of Flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
SearchStax is proving to be a great search platform and allows for customization on how to set up rankings and returned results. We havent had the chance to full dive in on all of the settings yet, but initial results look strong.
What do you dislike about the product?
Set up was difficult, but I believe this was mostly due to knowledge gaps on our developer side. SearchStax staff was great at handholding and getting our set up configured correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SearchStax is allowing us to fully customize our search experience and better tailor results for the user. It is also providing us full analytics to help optimize content on our site.
Simplified Managed Search Solution!!
What do you like best about the product?
Searchstax has simplified the search solution for our ecommerce website. comparing it to our previouse inhouse hosted Solr solution, the difference is day & nights. as after the intial setup, the ongoing maintenance/ monitoring has gone to essentially negligible.
What do you dislike about the product?
so far no downside observed! as the solutiopn works as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we had on premise search solution, which required ongoing maintennace and was found to be unstable. a lot of hours were being put in for issue resolution. after replacing with SearchStax we no longer have those problems.
Decent search option for Sitecore
What do you like best about the product?
Nice UX and filter options, ability to bring up relevant keywords
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes will throw a public-facing error for certain kewords, which meant having to dedicate time with support team to troubleshoot.

Honestly, there’s nothing to dislike about SearchStax. The system is incredibly reliable, the support team is fantastic, and the pricing is very competitive. It’s been a flawless experience so far.

SearchStax eliminates the need for us to manage a VM, handle Apache Solr installation, or worry about updates and ongoing maintenance. By offloading these responsibilities, we save significant time and resources while ensuring our Solr instances remain up to date and optimized. What do you like best about the product?
It is much more flexible compared to other products in market. Easy to setup and use. Good customer support. Easy to integrate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every product has some limitation and when you encountered it, support team needs to accept it with open arms but that wasn't the case when we faced such situation. Else there is nothing to dislike about product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using SearchStax so they'll manage the solr instead of us. To keep it up to date witch security patching is bit difficult to individuals so good to have reliable partner.
