SearchStax is a partner we have been using for many years to help manage our Solr environment.
What do you like best about the product?
They have been a great partner with us when it comes to troubleshooting issues, reviewing our environment and helping us advance our Solr platform. We have great account managers to work with and Larisa has been our latest to help us through some current issues we have been having along with helping us optimize costs in our environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see some better integrations into our other enterprise platforms like DataDog or Splunk. Also, we still need to work through some costing on the new environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving to the new Solr environment without increasing costs and optimizing for better performance.
Plug and play products and excellent customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent customer service at all times. Never had an issue with them.
What do you dislike about the product?
No issues with Searchstax, have been a customer for several years now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOLR index hosting. Set it and forget it.
A Standout in a Crowded Field
What do you like best about the product?
Many products in this space are trying to be all things to all people. A search product doesn't also have to be a CMS and a page builder and one-stop-shop for all things digital. The SearchStax product offering is straightforward and high quality.
The SearchStax team is also very responsive. The time between first inquiry and call with their partnership team was a matter of days, where other companies didn't respond for weeks or still haven't responded. In every interaction since, we've felt supported – from calls with subject matter experts, access to documentation or the ability to ask dumb questions.

What do you dislike about the product?
Deprecating the Theme Editor seems like cutting off a potential entry point to new customers. Having a pre-built and fairly standard theme to start with is a great way to focus on the more interesting and nuanced aspects of search customization. I'd like to see the Theme Editor come back in some way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Producing a better end-user search product by allowing non-technical site managers to better tune the experience and give them control over output. Search management is no longer a black box that's owned purely by developers.
Searchstax review
What do you like best about the product?
I like the clean dashboard, ease of use, and simple user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support needs improvement in terms of response time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
since we're a small team with no in-house developers, it allows us to optimize our search feature and help users find the right content on our site
Great search product, supported by a great team
What do you like best about the product?
SearchStax has a full-featured technical stack. The team is continually working to mature and improve it with meaningful features and understandable analytics. There are multiple implementation options, from drop-in UX Accelerator code to custom apps driven by their API. The API documentation is clear and helpful. You can aggregate data from across a variety of architectures without expensive connectors for your integration. It's a great product for improving customer experience and content performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The crawler itself isn't as fast as some on the market so iterations on the crawler settings can take a little longer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SearchStax lets us build and manage an index from content repositories that are built using a wide variety of web architectures. Instead of having only site-specific search results on satellite sites and microsites, we can provide a prefiltered search experience or let the user open up the results to find matches from the entire network. We are able to make small meta data adjustments to our pages and provide users with even more filtering options (called Facets). This gives us lots of UI options when building a custom search experience, or wiring SearchStax into existing applications.
Searchstax is easy to use application with up-to-date features.
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, have api connection, customer support is good, have promoted content function, ranking customizeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
UX part could be more easier intergration. Consider more in security connection part. Documents up-to-date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easier and quick to search/filter content.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Managment tool is quite complete, simple and easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support service is not what we expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves que requirement of having an enterprise search tool in our website
Larisa review
What do you like best about the product?
Having someone available to help and suggest ways in which to better use the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot download results to excel to view and analyze.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows for our customers to easily find items they are searching for. Allows me to search for items which we might need to add.
Expert SOLR Support that Eases the Burden on Our Small Tech Team
What do you like best about the product?
We have a small technology team with limited experience in SOLR's intricacies. Partnering with SearchStax for our SOLR implementation has eased the burden of needing in-house expertise, providing us with peace of mind knowing we have expert support when troubleshooting issues. The level of assistance we've received has consistently exceeded our expectations.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were a few hiccups during implementation that might have been avoided with earlier identification in the discovery process. While hindsight is 20/20, this experience offers a valuable opportunity for both SearchStax and new companies adopting their platform to learn and improve future implementations.w
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SearchStax primarily solves the challenge of providing expert hosting for our SOLR instance, giving us peace of mind. By reducing the need for internal SOLR resources, it frees up our engineers to focus on delivering high-value work that drives our business forward, rather than managing SOLR-related tasks.
Low cost alternative to Coveo
What do you like best about the product?
Once installed and working, it was extremely simple to create a search page. What would take multiple days in Coveo I could replicate in 30 minutes with SearchStax
The entry point pricing for Search Stax is very affordable.
While it does not possess ALL of the functionality of Coveo, we found that very few implementations actually need that those advanced features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Our first implementation was using Sitecore 10.4 in Docker containers and it did not work. I spent a lot of time working with their excellent tech support staff identifying the problems until they released a new container image.
With Coveo, we can have seperate indexes for web and master databases, with SearchStax, you get only one.
Every environment is another App, so if you have 3 devs and 3 environment (prod/qa/dev), you need 6 apps. This can start to become costly. With Coveo devs had free instances.
The ability to crawl external sources is an additional cost.
Some of the advanced functionality of Coveo are not available.

Makes the setup and configuration of Search Pages and Landing pages a breeze, greatly reducing implemention costs.
