Transform and transport data stored on BigQuery database
User friendly tool with lots of scope for improvement
What do you like best?
The ease of loading unclean data into bigquery. Different formats & edits can be made while loading. The feature to show the number of records that don't align to the type of data makes it extremely useful.
The scheduling feature that runs seamlessly.
The multiple different output & input formats & locations.

What do you dislike?
When the number of unclean records are shown, there needs to be a way to view just these and be able to correct each of them or have a feature of make edits for specific records.
There needs to be a way to notify when there is an error, an email to the owner of the flow.
Default access to all the workflows within the organisation, instead to needing to share them one by one.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Loading Data into BigQuery. The tool is extremely user friendly. BigQuery's native data upload functionality is very basic and extremely hard to debug in case of errors.

Trifacta - importing into Bigquery Sandboxes
What do you like best?
Trifacta is easy to pick up and play, to import, cleanse data and export to another system (in our case Bigquery) is really simple and intuitive. The tool's suggestion on data cleansing options is spot on as well.
For a cloud based system data uploads incredibly quick.

What do you dislike?
Lacks some of the functionality of rivals such as setting up a joint workspace, although flows and dataset can be sent to others it would be great to share some sort of project with colleagues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in a 100+ year old business that has a habit of acquiring smaller businesses and then requiring reporting in one location, and with Bigquery, one table, Data Cleansing and transfers is a big part of my job. Trifacta is useful to analyse massive datasets from POS systems that possible haven't had the resource behind them before to standardise.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Probably the easiest pick and play option for ETLs
Cloud dataprep works very well for the applications I need it for!
What do you like best?
The automatic data profiling is my favorite feature
What do you dislike?
It can be a bit clunky and unintuitive to use at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used Trifacta as the transformation layer in an ELT process. It was easy to spin up and use
Powerful but too much crashes since the recent update. Too complex in terms of rights.

Sometimes the tool is a little slow. Also the price model is likely to evolve towards something much less affordable.

Trifacta is one of the best Data Preparation tool available & now it is implemented on cloud too.
What do you like best?
Numerous of features & functions available which can be used easily. We can easily import many type of files, and also export the prepared flows for Data Analysis or for other uses to other Google Platforms like BigQuery or Cloud Functions. Huge flows will run within few minutes. Fast response from the support team for every queries & also work hard for solving the issues soon. Provide regular updates once or twice a month.
What do you dislike?
When it comes to cloud there are some limitations now such as some performance issues. But they are improving it day by day by adding more features. The exported flow format is unique for Trifacta so we cannot open with other similar tools or we cannot convert it to other format. There is some slowness experiencing in the User Interface of Cloud Trifacta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using it for my work. Creating & preparing the data for Analysis. Importing data from Buckets & BigQuery after preparing exporting it as .csv file.
