Fortinet nos ha permitido pasar de no tener visualizacion ni rastreo de lo que sucede en el internet de la empresa a gestionar los accesos y quienes deberian tener acceso.

Fortinet team met the implementation timeline and provided consistent support afterwards.

Cost was on the higher end. Other vendors were offering it at a lower price.

This firewall is the most complete device in the entire labor market, because it helps you reduce the number of daily threats. additionally it is a veteran sniffer. It helps to centralize the monitoring of daily risks. In my experience it has helped me to solve virus problems in the company where I work. Additionally, as a router, it has many guaranteed functions
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the licensing because without it most of the utm can not be applied, for this reason I must be aware of having a backup or redundant device. Additionally the electrical issue is delicate, since it can sometimes lose the operating system

The best ones are the UTM because of the great customization that can be given, you can create different UTM where it blocks unauthorized access to web pages, use of applications in the cloud, it prevents the download of potentially malicious files, the protection that gives the antivirus all this coupled with the easy versatility that implements in security policies.
Another aspect that highlights the fortinet are the updates it receives from Fortiguard and keeps updated the engines of the antivirus and ISP.
The motivated fortiview is very helpful to summarize the traffic of the connected equipment.

What do you dislike about the product?
Fortinet does not properly recognize the mobile devices in the DHCP monitor. I have found that some phones he considers them as Linux devices and not Android.
They should add more load balancing algorithms in the SD-WAN.
In the web interface of Fortinet does not allow to modify the hello and death times in the OSPF algorithm. To modify it must be entered by console.

Good value, but a little quirky
What do you like best about the product?
Fortinet provides a very broad feature set. FIPS crypto for a great price. Very granular control. The online vendor provided "cookbooks" provided by vendor are especially useful, as a new user of the product. The combination of versatility, stability, and price have made it a good solution for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI provides limited access to features. Command line becomes necessary when deviating from standard settings. For example, RADIUS servers running on alternate ports? The command line is workable and structured, for coming from a Cisco IOS background, the fortinet doesn't seem quite as refined.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Point-to-Point VPN Tunnels for remote offices. General firewall capabilities, packet filtering. Wireless AP controller. It has been stable and reliable for all of these roles. Jobs requiring FIPS certified crypto modules. The real benefit here has been the price point. I can live with GUI and CLI rough edges, so long as it meets requirements and is stable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's worth an eval unit, if for no other reason than to validate that critical features are available. It seems like every firewall vendor does things a little differently.

Its graphical console does not need further explanations since it is quite intuitive and easy to use, the policies, security profiles, apply quality of service by applications, users, sub-networks and profiles is very easy to perform and with a magnificent accuracy, additionally to this it provides an effective layer of security by restructuring the vulnerabilities breaches.

It needs to be complemented with another product, to be 100% protected from new threats
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The implementation of effective traffic shaping by applications, users and sub-networks, notably improved the traffic of the network, the service of the VPN was quite simplified improving the experiences of the users, it was possible to establish policies of traffic balancing and high availability with the different internet links that the company has (it is already automatic and not manual), several threats were detected that with the other firewall was not noticeable.

It is an excellent tool, with which you have control of almost all security events, depending on what location you will have in a private network, you do not need an intensive course but if the administrator should have average knowledge in the area to be sure of the changes that apply in their day to day, since the changes are applied at the time of making them.
Not worth it
The integration doesn't exist. It isn't automatic, other than payment. The data sheet is an advert for a hardware device! The usage instructions are non-existent for the SaaS. Complete garbage. I intentionally bought the least expensive as a method to test before buying all. This is basically a hustle.
