symbol 'grub_calloc' not found

  • By the OS is not stable

After you install the instance, everything works perfectly.

We uploaded our work and had it running for about a week, when we tried to restart the instance, it never restarted and the issue returned
"error: symbol `grub_calloc' not found. Entering rescue mode...
grub rescue> _"

This is an error from the OS Ubuntu, there is a fix, but i was not able to work on it due to that instance is connected to the AWS market and it didnt allow me to move the vlomun to fix it on another server

Watch from this error and make sure you restart the server during a week time to make sure your HD is fine.

Greetings, Having the same problem. "error: symbol `grub_calloc' not found. Entering rescue mode... grub rescue> _" I cannot connect the serial console and neither can I connect this disk to another instance due to marketplace limitation that I cannot connect this disk to some other server. I tried that link, but it says that I need to connect the disk to another server which it does not. In fact, we have a valid Plesk License on this one. And this is not the first time. Once Plesk autoupdated and crashed on its own. then I had to manually run update/upgrade and reboot. Finally, I disabled auto updates on the entire server. Yet facing this problem. Dont know what to do. Never buy Marketplace instances, build on your own. At least you are in control. Hope this helps the others. Thank you

You probably made updates and not checked if the server was working properly. The best way to have it running fine is after deploying the machine, update it to Ubuntu 20. Make all available updates and make some tests before place production contents. Mine Plesk servers are running like a charm.
