Effective LMS But Not the Easiest to Master
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can grade papers online, leave voice comments, and I love the integrated turnitin.com ability. Modules are easy to make for online teaching. Students love the journals, and the discussion boards are easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not intuitive, and it's not easy to help students, because we can't see their view and our view at the same time. Also, a lot of things - such as the feedback studio - are clunky and slow, and it's not obvious where to track things down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love having an LMS that my students can use on all platforms. This makes it so they cannot make excuses about accessing it, as long as they have a phone.

Make sure you're trained and have a good relationship with your support team!

It could be more intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
It connects a lot of different aspects of the job/my classes together

Some of the online features could be more intuitive, they are confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to condense everything down to one card and allows access to buildings, purchasing of refreshments and has an online component that could turn into a useful tool as well.
I hate blackboard.
What do you like best about the product?
Logging out. I really loathe this program.
What do you dislike about the product?
It never works. Always down for maintenance. I don't even want to begin with the malfunctioning app. Most colleges use this platform but it's more of a headache than should be legal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None. When it works...it's great. But unfortunately...that's an oxymoron.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Stay ahead of the game. Fix sync issues between the app and the online platform. Account for times when a lot of students may be submitting assignments and not crash.
Website Creation and Management Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard Learn is very easy to use and the application itself presents a very professional product to the users. As a teacher, we use Blackboard Learn to post our classroom webpages. These pages are seen by parents, students, and community members. (Truly anyone in the world!) The webpages we create and use are functional and appealing. Students and parents navigate with ease and enjoy logging on to use our sites, thanks to Blackboard Learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating and altering pages once they are on your site can be a bit difficult if your site contains multiple pages and links. Trying to organize a large site may take time and ultimately be more frustrating than leaving the links where they were. Nevertheless, this site faces that problem because you are capable of creating the site size that you want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our district website and homepages are uniform and functional. We can contact one company to solve our tech problems, as well as assist one another in any small hiccups we may face.

Use this across your district/company, not simply for one small portion of your organization.
Blackboard software in dry-erase board times
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that this software will keep track and tabulate grades for me which makes my end of semester efforts SO much easier than they were previously.
What do you dislike about the product?
As my school insists that I track attendance for all my classes, every semester I have to set up an Excel spread sheet to do this chore. It would be really nice if BB had this in the software somewhere easily accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting handouts, lecture notes and even slide shows saves my school $ in paper and copying costs. Also, with all the necessary coursework available to the students online, they can no longer say that they "lost the assignment or handout" (they can still say that the dog ate their homework though).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use as many online aids as possible when you start using this software, there's a pretty steep learning curve here.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to use the classroom, class connect sessions, and update students on their assignments and essays!
What do you dislike about the product?
The blackboard system can be a decent learning curve at first, which makes it difficult to use in the beginning. But, after learning it, it makes life easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In an online high school, there are sometimes issues with engagement. We have found that Blackboard helps connect with students better and makes them more engaged.

Be patient, learn it and you'll love it!

I think what I like best is the dashboard where all of the most relevant information is highlighted and easily accessible.

I never struggle to use it, there is nothing I dislike.

I use Blackboard as a student to access all of my class information easily and in order to stay on track with my classes, assignments, and professors.

If you feel that you easily get overwhelmed with the amount of information to keep track of as a student or a professor, Blackboard easily keeps everything in one spot and is extremely user friendly.
good app to keep track of the class
What do you like best about the product?
BB is something used by most of the academic institutions. It aims to help students stay in the same level of teachers who will post slides, hw, quiz solution, exam preparation material on it. Students can also use it as a discussion panel to share thoughts. It is really fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing else I dislike the bb, if there will be something I hate, maybe they seem not to have a mobile app.

Convenient site
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you are able to use this site to upload homework and it has a safe test where it reads the document and tests it against other submissions to see if people are cheating.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when you get an announcement, it does not go away when you open it until you open it multiple times. I want the notification to go away as soon as i open it.

I use blackboard for the university of connecticut.
