Clunky interface and frequent crashes, but gets the job done.
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is customizable to fit each professor's needs, and offers interactive tools to help facilitate online class discussions and assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to other online education tools, Blackboard feels clunky and un-intuitive. It takes time to navigate, and is visually uninviting. There could be better support for file sharing, and the program frequently crashes university-wide, which causes a lot of problems for students and professors alike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Blackboard as part of several online classes. There are several negatives to Blackboard, but its biggest benefit is that it serves as a one-size-fits-all program to host all aspects of an online class.

Thins application is easy to use because the interface is user friendly. I also allows you to create your own tbs/categories

Blackboard is used for managing student data. It allows up to date information on student grades

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, having everything together in one place. The sections are easy to navigate and blackboard gives users options to centralize everything- organization (calendar), testing (quizzes), and information (documents, slides) regarding lectures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The notification system could be better, and keeping track of the scores you receive for each subject could also be more organized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Can have a full class of 1000 students receiving information as it comes, keeping up to date and take in quizzes and other quick tests without the hassle of going over to another system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the predominant student hub being utilized by colleges across Ontario. I highly recommend!
Great Product for Educational Purposes
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard allows me to easily manage all of my courses. I am able to upload assignments, communicate with other students and instructors, and send mass emails to users. I have used this software at four different institutions, and the continuity throughout the system regardless of institution allows undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to seamlessly adjust at different institutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much that I don't like about Blackboard. The Live Sessions feature can be a little wonky at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From a staff perspective, I am able to provide training sessions through Blackboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Blackboard is a great resource, especially for university/college students, staff, and faculty. The system allows faculty to monitor student interaction, track grades, and interact with students virtually. Staff can use the system to create groups, provide training modules, and take quizzes. Students can email their classmates through the system to organize study groups.

What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is user-friendly. Very flexible to post student material, announcements and even do exams online. You can easily assign different permission levels to faculty and students.
Weights can be added to exams and assignments, thus adding up to the full course grade.
Easy to navigate and compatible with any browser.
The application can easily be configured to connect to the LDAP. And it is mobile friendly!!

It is hard to mention weaknesses in the functionality of the application. I would suggest a more colorful interface.

Blackboard eases the collaboration between student and teacher. Students can attend classes through BB collaborate tool. They can post their assignments and exams, add notes, do exams and get all these graded.
The answer key can be added to the BB exam for immediate correction and display of the grade after it is submitted.

I believe it is worth trying. i recommend educational institutions to contact blackboard and ask for a demo, as well as possible offers.

It is easy to navigate, and switch back and forth between classes and sections
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app isn't as good, some of the features are missing and you can't view everything (like Discussion Boards) on the mobile app

It’s an easy way to upload and submit reports

If you’re using it on mobile phones a lot, Not everything will show or load
Good overall experience for course information and sign-up

The best feature was the ability to do group announcement and group conversations. Made it easy to interact with my professors and classmates. Additionally, seeing all courses in one location makes it a useful tool for keeping up with communication for different courses

The class sign-up process was not as well connected to the University's other systems as I would have liked; I had paid for the courses but kept getting notifications of lost payment

We are easily able to communicate directly with professors, other teaching assistants and students.
