Blackboard for college
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard offers the ability to complete assignments, receive and give grades to students and ease of access.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to Blackboard would be the connectivity. There were multiple instances where the connectivity inhibited my ability to complete assignments and work in general.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Face to face interaction has been cut in half because of Blackboards ability to display grades.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Blackboard is a great resource. The only downside is the connectivity.

No choice, decent features
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to keep track of grades and pull total grade reports easily is convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The discussion board function makes it a bit confusing to distinguish between original responses and replies

Useful for communicating with the entire class and collecting assignments in electronic formst

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it is easy to navigate. The grade center was so easy!
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked the clicking to get into another column. It could use less clicking to the next.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I never had any business problems to necessarily solve. I used this for grading and viewing assignments/rubrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great for college courses and professors to use for their classes. I don't have a bad thing to say about this!!!
Easy Student Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I like the easy navigation and setup of blackboard. Navigating my classes is a breeze.

I don’t like that you can’t live chat with colleagues. Still uses email

Blackboard seems to offer a lot of features. It has good collaboration tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX is not the best - I feel that the design team has not been working on revamping the interface.

Universally used and known by a wide user base, globally. This makes it easy to find support and peer guidance when dealing with ongoing system flaws.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tools are clunky and riddled with bugs. Fixes take a while and often break other features. Often we are left weighing two bad options when planning system upgrades.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Learning management system to supplement face-to-face classroom learning and online learning. Blackboard contains many native tools that are requested or expected by faculty.

What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard makes it easy for students, teachers, and teaching assistants to access materials in one place. As a coordinator, I can easily access assignments, class rosters, and other materials.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the overly simplistic layout, and the fact that it is easy to click a button on accident.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The course instructors are able to easily communicate with all of the students at once, in case a class is cancelled, or an error needs to be made aware and corrected.

What do you like best about the product?
What I love the most about blackboard is that it is so easy to put all your course content in one place. It is very easy to access as well. I love that it can tell you your grades, due dates of assignments and send reminds for assignments at a time as well. I can also easily manage my work-related documents and training on blackboard just by clicking on the organizations that I am a part of. I love you that you send mass email and make announcements for everyone to see it as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard does not work well on phones or on the app. I have had issues with submitting .zip files for my assignments as well, and it does not really incorporate videos properly.

I use it to contact my students as their tutor, and I also use this for accessing my own courses. I go back to it frequently to keep a track of all my academic records and it is very helpful.

I would definitely recommend you to check your blackboard often.
Blackboard Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to post grades so students can see them in real time. I also like that I can post content rather than making copies of printouts. The announcements feature is also beneficial for communicating with students. Additionally, I am able to copy course content, so once I have taught a course, I can use the same materials again and add to them or change them if necessary. Also, it has proved very benificial to all my students and my colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I can think of that I dislike is the fact that there is a lot of maintenance during times that I need to access classroom content. If this construction could take place during less eventful hours, such as during the overnight hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it at Rice University to help my students access their courses, submit their assignments and view their grades. Makes my work easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would definitely recommend it to people in the education department. It is a great application for managing your class.
Serves the necessary functions
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is easy to modify to fit my needs and integrates with other software easily (e.g., Turning Point for clickers, publisher websites).
What do you dislike about the product?
SafeAssign needs to be improved. There have been many instances where either SafeAssign has missed clear instances of plagiarism. Further, it is frustrating that SafeAssign cannot identify references and omit them from the flagged text.
Blackboard could also be aesthetically improved.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I upload readings and copies of PowerPoint presentations, grade all written assignments, run most assignments through SafeAssign, integrate Blackboard with TurningPoint software, administer quizzes, and track grades using their Gradebook.
