Class management platform
What do you like best about the product?
I can see the schedule with the due dates and exams on it. It also alerts me when something in due.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the mobile version of the website. It's extremely buggy and broken.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
You can manage all course-related things in one place and give access permissions to TA and students.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are amazing features that users can use but it is hard for the users to know that these features are there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I thought a course in the university. I can have all the assignments submitted in one place so that I can double check the grading policy of the TA. I post all course related things in Black Board, make all the announcement, submit all the grades.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that it is a very good tool. However, to make the best use of it a training session for users has to be conducted.
Blackboard is a great way to virtually manage courses, interact, and communicate with students.
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the best about this software is the ability to set timelines within a calendar for the student, for which they receive reminders when assignments are due and when events are happening on campus.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the homepage seems condensed with links and resources making it difficult for students to find what they are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems being solved is being able to refer students back to the homepage to help them navigate to their email, their student account, and/or finding their course information.
Okay platform for school materials
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to store things, organize folders, keep class materials (syllabi, quizzes, lessons, etc), show grades, communicate, etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Not very well organized, not the most user-friendly interface
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps make things cloud-based, secure, accessible from anywhere.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would consider this as method for storing things and providing student resources, but maybe look at competing vendors to try other products first to see what's out there

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's easy to use and a good place to store files to re-use for later classes
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how glitchy it is. No matter what browser I use, there are glitches with moving files from one location to another.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posting teaching materials for courses is solved so that students get all of the information that their colleagues get at the same time. Benefits are that resources are available and posted to Blackboard without the need for students to hunt down their instructor for every question. Tables, charts, lab groups, and announcements about upcoming exams and corrected lecture slides are all easily and readily available 24/7.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Blackboard is software that could use some updating to compete with the likes of Canvas. Our University it switching to Canvas in an effort to create a more flexible workflow and contact with students. This is where Blackboard lacks advancement.

What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is very student oriented and user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard has a very expensive price tag and can be more complicated to administer especially with Goggle and Microsoft rolling out their online platforms that are very comparable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Blackboard as virtual classrooms for online students. Cloud hosting Blackboard does not always work well when trying to import data.

Before signing with Blackboard look at some of the more cost effective options available for education.
It's the standard for most universities, right?
What do you like best about the product?
You can do a lot with Blackboard, and a big reason for that is because Blackboard isn't trying to do EVERYTHING or entirely replace in-class activities. It can be a useful place to store course files, host course discussions, grading, you name it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a big wonky in terms of formatting and using links for discussion board posts. Has the feel of a very old forum thread -- like fifteen years ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved the problem of getting students to demonstrate, before class, that they've done readings and for instructors to be able to come to the class meeting with student commentary in hand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it. But do play around with it before you unleash it upon your course. You need to know how it works and how to make things accessible for different types of course participants, such as teach assistants and students (and instructors), so that it does not come back to bite you in the butt, when students start to gripe about not being able to submit assignments or find readings.
The better you scope BlackBoard the better it will be

I like the flexibility, size and scope of what BlackBoard can do. It is a great product that has the capability of doing anything you want it to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
What makes BlackBoard so good is its versatility. It is also it's biggest problem. It is so big and flexible, people get lost and struggle to scope it to what will really work for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use BlackBoard for instruction at the university. It is our primary tool and it gets the job done.

It is a quality product that has a rich history. Know what you are getting into and have a solid plan on how to do it.

It is easily accessible and a great tool for both students and teachers alike. You can check grades, assignments, and even communicate with all of your classmates using one platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
It may just be me, but it took me a little bit to learn how to use it. I believe that instructors should be better trained so that they can aide heir students when they have questions. I believe schools should also use blackboard and not several other platforms because that just creates more work for everyone.

Staying up to date with grades, feedback, group discussions. Etc.

Ease of letting the students know about their performances.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not too friendly for new users.

Uploading and managing grades for the course students. Homeworks, lab reports, and project details of the students are very easy to manage.

Try to spend some time on it. Once you get used to it, you will start to realize its beauty.
