great tool for managing classes
What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard allows students to manage the classes that they're enrolled in. It's an easy to use platform that makes course info accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design is a little outdated-- could use an update on UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great tool for me to keep up in my classes. I can access all the info and assignments I need for all my classes.

Blackboard as a tool for educators
What do you like best about the product?
I like the accessibility and ease of use for most of the applications within blackboard. It is easy to learn how to do simple tasks, like post a new assignment to the course board or entering student grades.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there were technical errors that made processes take longer. For example, I could see something I posted but the students could not and it was just a glitch

What do you like best about the product?
Blackboard is very simple to use and it is easy to add and revise courses if you are an administrator.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Blackboard could improve the overall look of their site and make it look a bit more modern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Blackboard for training for employees as well as trainings that cost money for outside staff, so it's great that we can do both using one LMS.

Its efficiency to store information for students.

It is time consuming to in organizing your class material.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blackboard benefits us by aiding the Instructors in communicating with their students, especially the online students who don't set foot on campus.
Effective but Challenging to Navigate
What do you like best about the product?
Everything is integrated: students can submit assignments and I can grade them and they sync to their grade book. I can post folders of resources for student access. Discussion boards, online quizzes, and different ways of assessing learning are available.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup of your shell is clunky. It is difficult to make it easy to navigate for the student while also making it easy for you to update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Classroom management. Program management. Student resource accessibility.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is time-consuming to set up, but I recommend some uniformity at least within departments so that students can find things more easily because all of their courses structure their shells in similar ways.
Solid Product that Delivers
What do you like best about the product?
The backend of Blackboard is very easy and intuitive to use. The backend is easy to navigate using clearly marked panels and panes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires some adjustment with the terminology. For example, they call different parts inside of a module, an app which can be confusing when you are looking to create new pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our district uses this for their website platform and it has been received fairly well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Blackboard to users. Choosing the right template will be the most important first step. That will allow your users to have a clean and intuitive site with the most up to date information they need right at their fingertips.
It is helpful when trying to find my class syllabus, very convenient, I can log onto my phone
What do you like best about the product?
I like best to check syllabus and when my upcoming exams are, I also like to check up on my grades frequently. It is user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
when they have maintenance malfunction and when blackboard is down. Otherwise it is well rounded.

with my job for my on campus job helps me do the student employee compliance training on it. very helpful.

Yes I will definitely recommend blackboard to my fellow colleagues.
Useful Quiz Tool with Item Statistics
What do you like best about the product?
Admittedly we do not use the entire suite of BlackBoard products, but the pieces that we do use are very effective for our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are not familiar with how things will work for the end user, you can accidentally set up a very confusing experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quizzes are highly customizable and we use the quiz features for both formative and summative quizzing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to consider the end-user experience during set-up/implementation. Minimize student interaction with submitting assignments in multiple places. Simplify the user experience as much as possible.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how organized it is when it comes to keeping the courses separate and in them, different assignments and lecture material. The organizations you are a part of are also contained in a different section. So it basically makes browsing through your grades or uploading assignments or even studying for exams through lecture notes really easy
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are issues in opening the grades or assignment submission sections when you try to open it on Chrome (not on the app)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using this to upload my assignments, access class lectures, make announcements for the class where I am an SI Leader, access all student emails and complete my online training for my job.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Most of college students would be required to use blackboard to keep a track of their academic progress
Great distance delivery option
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve had the opportunity to use Blackboard both as a student and instructor at the university level. It’s easier to use now than previously and each version seems to have worthwhile updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’m still a believer of face-to-face classes so just using an online platform to deliver content is not my ideal, however Blackboard is great for a blended classroom.
