Blackboard has dramatically changed how school is done.
What do you like best about the product?
It is a phenomenal asset for those of us who utilize school online. The ease of access and the ability for real time grading and communication is incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only part I dislike is the discussion boards. There should be a better avenue and format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving all of my scholastic needs and learning how to utilize this tool for my own students.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get to know this site. This is the future of online learning. Take all of the time you can to familiarize yourself with this program. There are so many tools that go unutilized.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about blackboard is that it creates a virtual learning environment for classes that are taken online through a university. It also is visually appealing and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Blackboard is that sometimes there are glitches in the systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blackboard allows universities to transfer from traditional face-to-face classrooms to virtual online learning for convenience and ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend universities and high schools to use this software to show that their organization is flexible in terms of learning and classroom interaction. This may a useful tool to use in a learning environment for those who do not feel comfortable sharing ideas in a classroom but virtually instead.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the grade book features in blackboard the best and also the adaptive release option.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike copy course features and not being able to post over many classes one specific announcement or assignment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best benefit is that the students have 24 hour access to coursework which in the wether driven area I live in access is important.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get as much training as possible and make sure he trainers use the product and are not just there as a trainers. You will have specific use questions and just a trainer will not know how to direct you in your issues.
My experience with BlackBoard (eCampus)
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that all materials are in one place (in this case, on TAMU eCampus). How easy it is to upload files and check the study materials. The ability to prepare materials in advance and make them available at a later date.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not easy to operate. Some basic tools, such as moving posts from one topic to the other, is not available. Sometimes it is very hard to navigate through the discussion forum. Chat with the members of your group is very restricted and it is e-mail-based (no copy is kept on BlackBoard).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use eCampus to check contents from the classes I am teaching and also to post materials and interact with the students for the courses I am an associate instructor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is not the most advanced tool in the market - it does not use all HTML5 tools we have nowadays.

What do you like best about the product?
They are always making improvements to the interface. There is connective between multiple platforms, such as uploading documents, chatting, email, and video conferencing. Blackboard allows for multiple types of group, including activities, fields and classes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple levels of clicking to get through some portals. There is not alot of customization for users. Inconvenient times for maintenance updates will no access to portal. The android app served no purpose and provide no extension of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great source for providing classroom based training on a virtual level that can reach a wide audience. There is the ability to initiate conversations, test knowledge, and store documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Blackboard is best used for a group that needs to provide a source for training and a way to group members into categories. It does not allow for simple group based communication

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Blackboard has a robust gradebook where I can have weighted grades, drop low grades, categorize assignments, and keep my students up to date on how they are doing. I use the collaboration tools (especially the discussion board) on a regular basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Blackboard does not remember my preferences for setting up things like assignments. I use the same settings almost all the time, and it would be nice if the system had a "standard settings" option so that I do not have to click the same boxes over and over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are training students to be ready for the real world. The real work requires technology so they are learning how to operate in the internet world.

It is a fairly intuitive program that keeps classes organized.

The students seem to like the user interface.

From an instructor point of view I've found it to not be intuitive.

I use it for teach graduate courses.

It's not a bad tool. But as a teacher I'm not given a choice.
Used this program in school all the time
What do you like best about the product?
This is a great way for teachers to communicate with students outside of the classroom. Assignments and announcements can all be seen here.
What do you dislike about the product?
The program did lack a little bit of user-friendliness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
students tend to lose things and this is a great way for them to be able to see upcoming due dates if they may have lost their syllabus

know the ins and outs of the program to make it much handier to use

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about blackboard is that it allows users to access a large amount of information, and that accounts stay active from year to year.
What do you dislike about the product?
Blackboard is not very user friendly, nor is it intuitive. I would honestly not use it if it were not considered industry standard for a software of its type. Even the basic format of Blackboard is not aesthetically pleasing, it is shockingly amateurish for such a widely used software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this program to communicate with my students in the course that I teach. I have not found it very useful, I only use it because it is the software that the university requires me to use. I suppose one benefit is that it allows me to send mass emails to all students in the class.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend using it if you are involved with a university, as it seems to be the most widely used software and students, teachers, and administrators alike are all relatively familiar with it. For any use outside of the university setting I cannot say that I would recommend it, I cannot imagine it coming in handy for any of the projects or jobs I have done outside of an academic setting.

What do you like best about the product?
I feel it is very easy to organize your classroom materials, keep track of students work and grading with rubrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot of design flexibility. I would like to be able to add at least two columns so people don't have to scroll so much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are making more online courses available in higher education. It is easy for students to access and teachers to access anywhere they are.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you look and try out everything that they have to offer. To many times people don't try out the tools.
