Excellent resource to because a cloud guru

  • November 17, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The instructors are entertaining and speak "real-world". It's not boring to listen to them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not too much to dislike, but maybe some areas are a little light. When I took the actual exam, some topics were not covered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are learning what it takes to move our applications from our own data center to the cloud, not only to reduce footprint, but to save money and resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The courses are excellent. Watch them, code along, and then when you're done, watch it again. You'll pick up on things you missed before. Take the practice exams multiple times.

Complete roadmap for cloud certifications

  • November 17, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Smooth flow of courses with labs and theories.
- Students are encouraged to help each other by answering others' questions and referencing other whitepapers and resources.
- Labs are easy to follow, and explain the theory clearly.
- There are career roadmap for different paths, allow students to learn other skills while trying to get certified.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Some courses are too old and not well maintained (resources code no longer works).
- ACloudGuru relies a lot on students' participation, and if a course is not a certificate course, you can only help yourself.
- The recent login after acquiring Linux Academy sucks because I have to re-login every time I open a new tab!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Practice exams: I take the exams a few times before the real one, and make sure the last few ones are 90%+.
- Labs and lectures: The lectures and labs are mixed perfectly. After a short theory, there's a lab demonstrating the theory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't rely it to completely to pass the exam. Try to get other practice exams online to get a better idea how AWS exams are like.

Also, make good use of the Q&A community: there are a lot of amazing questions asked that will make you think outside the box, and forces you to do some research on AWS whitepapers and documentations. It is a good experience to get an answer online.

I was told getting AWS certifications can start my career easier, and I am still working on it... Hopefully this is true!

The skills assessment is still in its infancy. But I hope this will evolve quickly

A Cloud Guru - An important companion in my 5+ certification journey across various providers

  • September 07, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A cloud guru has been a key companion in my (5) certification journey, across multiple providers. There are many more to come and I look forward to be associate with A cloud good for a long term. I like the step by step approach. Focused towards completing the certification along with providing insights about the cloud world. Keeping you updated with the latest trends in cloud industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot say as dislikes, but some areas of improvement that I think can help A cloud guru to excel.
Adding more hands-on labs and practice tests would really boost the confidence of the student taking the course. Having more student engagement activities and events would definitely be helpful to build and nurture a long term relationship with A cloud guru and the community. I think having small region specific events (online / offline) to increase collaboration and community engagement would give a far reaching benefits and visibility to A Cloud guru.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For now I use A Cloud guru mainly to study new technology and prepare for my certification exam. Also, along with that, I am using A cloud guru to design and propose cloud solutions to some of my e-commerce domain client's to solve their specific business problems. I am a bit fan of voice services and server-less, hence using A cloud guru to learn and develop applications in that domain.
I use A Cloud guru, to improve my dev-ops skills. with docker, kubernetes, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have started or planning to start the career in cloud computing then A Cloud Guru would make sure you achieve success in your career move.

What do you like best about the product?

The Production quality of all courses is absolutely brilliant, the training architects really know what they're talking about through years of knowledge
The web application is very well structured and the functionality is well thought out.
The Forums are very useful and the community answers questions well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of uncertainty around the current merger of A Cloud Guru an Linux Academy, especially in terms of what content will be kept and what will be deprecated.
The older A Cloud Guru courses can be a little too "non-technical" in nature, choosing to skim over the ore technical aspects of te issues.
The number of courses available is still on the small side, but I believe that this will be improved over time, especially with the
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding, implementing, and securing complex hybrid cloud infrastructures

3 Certs in 2 Months! Thanks ACG!

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With ACG I was able to earn the AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate and the Azure AZ-900 all in about 2 months of study.

The classes are easy to follow and the quizzes and practice test made passing the certification exams almost a shoe in. I really appreciate the easy to learn from zero approach. Ryan Kroonenberg is especially easy to listen to and understand.

I am looking forward to tackling more certs with A Cloud Guru. Probably start hitting the Google Cloud ones next.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AWS SAA-02 class was a little disjointed as the class has changed with the new exam. I did have some difficulties with the completeness of that class and passing. I was able to pass on my first attempt, but I needed some non ACG tests for assist in prepping.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had a challenge for this year to earn at least 2 Cloud based certs for my position in Technical Sales. With A Cloud Guru, I was able to realize this goal easily. Since I work for a SaaS company selling a AWS based product, having the Certs have made my understanding of our product 'under the hood' much better.

This has also made it much easier for me to understand my customers issues and help them to be successful with our product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it! As a individual user who paid the premium for a year, It was worth it. Consider how much you would spend otherwise on 'official' classes for cert prep and A Cloud is a bargain.

Also make sure that you follow the weekly updates on the site to keep up with cloud tech as it evolves.

What do you like best about the product?
Certification courses helpful, labs and sandboxing maybe helpful in the future
Mobile app including download capabilities helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
It was confusing to have different versions of the same course visible in the interface
Some courses from Skylines Academy esp. about Azure now not available anymore
Price is too high. I can also buy a lot of the courses on Udemy for much less money
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting certified on AWS and Azure
Learning about the Cloud in general
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None
