A great data engineer tool
What do you like best about the product?
Its has the capacity to handle a lot of data, the way that you can configure the import and export jobs are incredible, it has compatibility with almost any kind of data
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface is unhelpful, you cant use 2 windows in the same session, so you have to change tabs if you want to compare data from 2 different workbooks or even worse 2 tabs in the same workbook
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The processing of millions of data, the optimization in the transformation of that data and exporting the information to formats like AVRO, CSV or even exclusive format for Tableau

Nothing. Frankly i havent found any downsides

The workbooks in datameer provide a friendly GUI interface. An analytical mind can easily prepare data using the inbuilt workbook function even without much technical knowledge.

What do you dislike about the product?
There may be more opportunities in making UI more interactive and add more sophisticated Data prep tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It had allowed me in developing and scheduling ad-hoc reports. Also while troubleshooting, I don't find much difficulty as most of the related resources is available on its website.
An easy-to-use, simple, flexible transformation tool
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is simple enough that users with no SQL knowledge can build reasonably complex transformation flows after a brief onboarding tutorial. The bells and whistles are limited, making for an easy-to-understand and less intimidating product for no-code users. But, because you can use SQL transformation, users with SQL experience have all the capabilities of using SQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface needs a little work, but I'm sure somebody will work that over time. For example, I was trying to build a complex transformation with a lot of steps, and it became hard to navigate the flow diagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transforming data is easy with this tool. Giving non-technical users in-database transformation capability is a big step towards data democracy for any organization trying to become more data-driven.
Simple Transformation Tool for All Levels of Technical Skill
What do you like best about the product?
The Datameer SaaS platform is perfect for data modeling for analysts with all levels of SQL skills. If analysts are not technical and prefer a GUI-based approach, Datameer provides an easy-to-use interface that enables the same end result as if the transformations were written directly in Snowflake. Datameer also allows users to switch between the GUI or SQL, or simply utilize SQL itself. Another nice thing about Datameer is the transformations are written back to Snowflake as Views rather than Tables, so analysts can store their queries without affecting the original data design.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the SaaS platform is still new, there may be opportunities to build upon the existing transformation tool, but the team is very receptive to feedback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datameer has allowed me to transform data and quickly generate insights using data from various sources without requiring in-depth technical knowledge or having to rely on technical subject matter experts at my company.
Easy and Powerful for Analytics and Transformations
What do you like best about the product?
Datameer is an easy-to-use ETL platform and requires Less to NO coding skills. Non-technical people can easily navigate to GUI and build transformations with just a few clicks, SQL complex logics with just a few clicks.
Datameer can be used for data transformation and analytics on the data, but row-level operations are a bit limited. Datameer is built for No-code SQL operations within snowflake so it cant be compared with ETL tools, it is UNIQUE among other ETL tools in the market.
Non-SQL users can use this Datameer that generates the SQL queries in the form of views, this is a very good feature of Datameer.
One more good feature is to extract the data in the form of CSVs at any step of the transformations that you do.

- Documentation needs to be organized properly
- Row level operations are limited
- Lookup – This can be achieved using SQL query in SQL editor but not using Objects. So SCD-2 m may not be possible with the given transformation objects
- Merge operation – This can be done using SQL query but not using the objects available. So SCD-1 may not be possible with the available transformation objects

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used this Datameer in our snowflake for Google Search Console data that gets through AWS S3, used Datameer for transformations, moreover, we exposed our model to our clients to allow our users (who are mostly non-technical) to transform and filter and extract their data and reports in the required format.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a non-SQL user then you should definitely use this tool.

it's really expensive; there is some limitation for non-coding .and also sometimes it doesn't import or export all data

Easy-To-Use, One-Stop-Shop For All Your Data Integration Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Datameer Spectrum connects to a multitude of data sources making it a great data integration solution. Very easy GUI lets us design complex ETL pipelines without spending time on coding. Easy to learn and master and includes transformation functions for any scenario. The Spark engine auto-scales and is very efficient. Datameer keeps adding more features and data connectors in Spectrum.
What do you dislike about the product?
They have a large training library but some videos should be updated.

- ETLing of SaaS data to Cloud DWs (Snowflake & Redshift)
- Replication of custom databases to DW (postgres, MySQL, etc)

- Data virtualization of production databases
Simplicity and consistency across the application. It just works as expected. People are surprised when I show them how easy it is to replicate a new dataset into our lake.

1. Try it out quickly, alongside a modern DW like Snowflake or AWS. Run a project for a month or two and make your own conclusions.
2. Datameer is affordable compared to other vendors like Informatica and Fivetran. Spectrum engine autoscale is included in the price so test it without worring about additional costs.
3. Embrace their ELT approach and ask support for help if you need it. Support is very responsive.

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is super fast and responsive even when working huge data sets. The best thing is you have the option for parallel processing which works seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be better if pricing were more transparently broken down

It is easy to use for non- technology-savvy people to get quick insights about the data.

Enables business and data analysts to work on BigData platform without having a whole lot of technical knowledge/experience on Hadoop.

Datameer documentation and release notes has scope of improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adhoc reporting and creating data models for customer behavior analysis, sales operation analysis. It significantly reduces the time between acquiring data to reporting and finding insights.
