What do you like best about the product?
The graphical overview for all backups is good.
Easy to schedule tasks, and have dependencies of previous tasks.

What do you dislike about the product?
When restoring backups, it´s difficult to search for specific files directly in the program. You need to know the path where the file where stored.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veritas solves the problem with restoring lost och corrupt data, which has saved many users many times.

Backup Exec - An easy to use best backup software - safe and secure
What do you like best about the product?
Veritas backup software is a friendly user backup software which is safe and secure by all means and well protected with all features including cloud storage protection as well.
The best GUI which i have ever seen compared to other complex softwares and with a very good track record of backing of Veritas for a long period in the backup industry as a leader.
The ease of use for any simple new user with very minimal clicks to enable, schedule or restore backups is the core of this application

What do you dislike about the product?
Login screen to be enabled with MFA enabling is one point which i would prefer to be enabled with users being given acess based on their roles which is not there. In simple terms Role based access control to be enabled.
Also the report generation is not automated in such a way that it can be saved in a different location in a different server which has to be done manually which is a very time consuming and a monotonuous task

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in restoring data w.r.t to any application or file server with ease and minimal timing rather than complex workarounds in other backup applications which i have seen already
Also scheduling the jobs once and automated is a very good feature based on the requirement of the stake holders of the concerned server.
The simple licensing method is another benefit which is quite not common feature in other backup applications.
Also the pricing of licence is cheap compared to other backup applications

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to administrate, complete log, good reports, new license system came to facilitate.

It's not the fastest among the competitors

you can be confident that your data will be protected, including from Ransomware

It solves lot of problems in Backup Exec. Maybe one of them i could recall is the NAS Backups in an alternative way..

Backup Exec is easy to install, the graphic user interface is intuitive and it is very simple to get started if you have a basic understanding of what backup is all about.

Instead of just a software handbook, perhaps include guidance on matters like backup plans, tape rotation, and the operational components of a backup system. However, overall, this is a fantastic tool for single users or small workgroups.

El facilitar el porceso de migración a la nube y la seguiridad que nos genera, por consiugiente una de las puntos que mas detaca es el ahorro de tiempo dinero y recurosos a nivel de infretructura.

En ocasiones suelen presentarse una inestabilidad en la ejecución de los comandos duranta cuando se lleva a cabo los respectivos respaldos y en muchas ocasiones crean complicaciones.

En la actulidad es comun que a nivel empresarial la proyección sea el ahorro de recurso y es lo que esta herramiente representa una optimización de infrestructura y ahorro economico para muchas empresas

La manera de realizaro los respaldos y la visibilidad que nos da al momento de presentarse un error, de facil entendimiento para resolverlos.

Que no podemos segmentar en una misma politica diferentes horarios de ejecucion en una sola. Seria genial que puedan agregar esa opcion.

Todo tipo de problemas de ejecucion de respaldos automaticos y me beneficia que no debo tener tantas personas administrando ya que con una sola seria suficiente.

I have been using Backup Exec for 20 years!
What do you like best about the product?
For over 20 years, our organization has been using Backup Exec. From the older versions of the software with our HP tape drives & media to our current environment with Dell PowerVault hardware and LTO tapes, BE has always been a crucial part of our disaster recovery plan. We still have legacy hardware in place and have multiple instances of Backup Exec 2010 R3 still running strong. This version of the software is, without a doubt, one of the most reliable products I have ever used! There were some growing pains with newer versions after 2010, as they tried to modernize the software while unfortunately removing the simplicity that made it great. This is the reason we have stuck with v2010 for so long.
Last year after a server crash, we reinstalled with v2021. I was pleased to find that this version was still easy to use for our daily file backups while having other features for modern IT. Aside from backup to tape, I have also used backup to disk and have successfully backed up & restored a server on Hyper-V. Today, we are on v2022, which looks the same as v2021.
As a registered charity organization, we are always looking for vendors that offer nonprofit discounts. I cannot give enough praise to Veritas for being a TechSoup donation program member for all these years!

What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint would be when major changes are made to new versions. Adding new features is good, but don't mess with the core functionality that most people are used to and rely on! I have no complaints about the current version.
