What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and log issues and data. Earlier excel was used to log all problems and manage quality data points , but after using this it became very easy
What do you dislike about the product?
It is expensive as compared to other tools. Also, a good level of training is required for this

ALM has a good idea of what it is used for, however, it is not user friendly nor is it efficient.

What do you like best about the product?
The data storage is massive. It can hold thousands of defects for example that are being tracked during a lifecycle of a software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not user friendly, it's confusing and not always helpful. The audit trail for each defect doesn't do a good job of recording past history and hence, data becomes hard to analyze.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To track defects after a software M&A. Benefits are that it tracks a lifecycle of a problem but it's not efficient nor is it easy to use.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
An easy to use software to track software bugs and requirements.
Ease of organizing requirements, test cases and issues by projects.
Ability to upload data from Microsoft XL.
Intuitive and good status reports
What do you dislike about the product?
Not very intuitive, needs some learning curve.
Prompts on actions being successful is not very clear, at times does not save!
If you are idol for a while, you get timed out and all changes will be lost.
License cost is very high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using manual methods to document and track requirements, bugs, test status. This tool was intended to have more efficiency and reduce time spent on manual tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pretty decent test management tool that could use some UI updates, as well as reduction in licensing costs

Good software for defect tracking and requirements

  • December 06, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Seems to be the best software we have used to track defects and implement requirements. Has a long list of features and enables a "one stop shop" for testing, defects, requirements and analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing is strict and the software can be glitchy at times. We have had issues with our changes not properly saving when updating an item. Once you get to know the software it can be worked around easily with the proper workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking our defects from start to finish. Implementing new features with requirements and creating test plans to QA the software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your organization will need and use all the features it offers. There may be a cheaper alternative if you don't plan on using all the offered features.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes a long time to load test cases for the team
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This was part of existing infrastructure

Good one for Bug management system

  • May 07, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best in market, simplicity and broader ways to integrate other project management tools with it. tool has a good GUI and better test data management mechanism. Notification mechanism and reporting features are also competitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like the fact that ALM only works well with Internet explorer and because of that it inherits all the performance issues from IE. Its very slow sometimes. there is improvement required in this speed context. look wise GUI is bettter but due Internet explorer thing , it freezes frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using ALM as our bug lifecycle management tool. The major benefit of this tool is its ability to integrate with HP's other testing tools which makes it a perfect automated testing framework.
HP has a good team to provide support on proactively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a big team and bug tracking is a bottleneck for you, please use HP ALM.
