Using HPE ALM for defect management - gets the job done

What do you like best about the product?
Allows for effective management of defects. Can create logic within application to ensure the right teams to work on right defects.
What do you dislike about the product?
This may be related to the setup of the application: slow response from application, below average user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently using this for defect management. We would regularly review defect backlog and ensure right level of attention is placed on the right issues.

What do you like best about the product?
> We use quality center for tracking our data requests for quality Assurance testing
> We have always applauded the ease of use of this tool while communicating with our team members and updating the changes we make to a cognos report.
What do you dislike about the product?
> HP Quality Center needs to make a more efficient version of the app because we have experienced lag while using this tool over the web
> Search function might get confusing at times
> The charts displaying the results of data requests or change tracking could be further improved

What do you like best about the product?
Well HO QLM basically used for continues integration, reporting, defect management and manging a wide variety of projects.
Things that I really appreciate and like about the software are it's a great tool for managing the project and makes it very comfortable for managing everything centrally.
Secondly, it's a great for reporting, documenting, managing test cases and defect tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could be more user friendly and would be wonderful if it could integrate with third party tools.
Server navigations seems limited often.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Traceability matrix is very clear and apt. Makes defect tracking very easy and helps me keep track of almost everything that the project is by far involved in.

What do you like best about the product?
The end to end traceability of a release from requirements through test cases down to defects leading to full accountability of QA projects and activities. The history feature for each and every change made to any of the components inside any of the modules helps for a complete audit trail of the QA processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally liked the Defects module in the older QC 10.xx versions before the upgradation to ALM 11.xx version. The
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HP ALM serves as the one and only robust test and defect management framework for our company where the end to end QA processes for each and every phase are captured and audited for quality control and process improvements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommed this product to all businesses having a quality assurance practice. Its robust and capable of completely capturing and retaining the entire qa processes for the business.

Great way to track defects for multiple projects!

What do you like best about the product?
As an Quality Center (ALM) Admin, this tool is very easy to use and provide access to new users joining a company. The best feature of Quality Center is the ease of assigning users specific roles with read/write permissions and assigning them to only the projects they require access to. This allows them to insert bugs and for the entire team to track those defects- allowing developers to fix them at their convenience and simply changing the status of the bug to indicate it has been fixed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Migrating from Quality Center to ALM was a huge pain for my team and I. At first, we discovered a tool called ALM Robot that would do the job on it's own, until we realized the entire repository was not transferred over. This became frustrating as we had to migrate over 50 projects to ALM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to keep track of each project's defect velocity across all 50 projects. This gives managers insights on a monthly basis of how how their defect velocity is and opens up discussions with the team to observe how those defects can be reduced.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that all of the components are fully integrated and can be used enterprise wide for all of the SDLC.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were chrome compatible. Alot of my users prefer to only use Chrome not IE, which makes it a hard sell.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for Testing and Defect Tracking. It allows users access to information with far more ease that Excel or Sharepoint
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its very expensive and keeps smaller companies from using it.

What do you like best about the product?
Very good team tool for managing project testing workflow. Very good for managing the testing process. You can write test cases and share with the QC team. Very good collaboration capabilities. Importing test cases from Excel to QC is very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it becomes difficult to link found defects to a test case. Very expensie.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Team QC testing management tool
2. Manage test script development, scripts and documentation

What do you like best about the product?
the tool offers great organization, document sharing, test scripting features. I use it to write test cases, and it can be shared with my colleagues. they review and update it. Once we start testing, we can update the test cases with the status. It's a great tool if you are just using these features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the tool offers a way to organize your test scripts and documents, the UI is very old and there are frequent freezes. This needs to be updated as there are important documents saved in this tool and it would suck to lose those from freezes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are building test scripts and plans for new software updates. This tool is the main platform the entire team (300+) use to manage scripts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for software development.
It offers easy to use features to manage your scripts and documents.

Best tool testing, defect tracking and management.

Quality Center is a Web-based test management tool, you can organize and manage all phases of the application testing process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial learning curve is a bit steep due to signs
Limited web browsers are supported
Few times application freezes with no error
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cost saving by reduced effort of manual tracking
Effective project management.

Good tool for established organization
It’s a very nice tool that can hold everything you need for project work.
