Open Source DB which is equivalent to Oracle DB
What do you like best about the product?
Almost all features / objects including Materialised views, Views, Functions, Procedures, etc., in Oracle DB are available in it and it is open source so no need to pay any licence cost for the database, conversion tool / plugin is available to migrate data from Oracle DB to PostgreSQL. With few syntax errors entire oracle database can be migrated to PostgreSQL.
What do you dislike about the product?
SQL editor is not good, it doesn't have SQL beautifier and other good productivity options. It should be improved similar to PL/SQL developer or Oracle SQL developer tool. Some of the objects / concepts - Sequence, Joins with (+) symbol, ROWNUM, SYSDATE, etc., in Oracle are not available in PostgreSQL.

A goodopen source technology
What do you like best about the product?
It offers reliable and flexible opensource database platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The screen that is separated in running queries. Not that intuitive with regards to screen and there’s a learning curve on first time using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to setup and use. No licensing issues or compliances. It is scalable from small to large applications.
Excelent and flexible open source SQL database
What do you like best about the product?
PostgreSQL is a mature database server with large user's community and continue development. Installation is very simple and also integration with multiple development environment is supported we user C++ library, PHP and Java integration
What do you dislike about the product?
would like better admin package, managing changes as versions is bit complex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use PostgreSQL as our system DB and benefit from wide range of features and extensions. We need to access the database from several environment and this is very simple and supported with large number of libraries and connections.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an open source SQL database that include many of the much more expensive solutions and it is open source with wide community of contributers

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the DB is free to use and distribute, however there are tons of resources available for the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing i can think of that i currently dislike is running a query on several databases at one time. something that is actually much simpler in SQL server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using PostreSQL for our applications and as a database for external data mining and analyzing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The product is great and there are tons of online and consultant groups to assist with setup and implementation.

I like how it has tables and also how it has columns

I don't like how there are no good clients that let you see images directly in the viewer

Great tool for relational database with additional functionality then sql

Some of the query are not as same as sql. It would be nice to make it same language

Used to develop software. From Dev stand point, it’s easy to control and manipulate and faster then sql server or MySQL

What do you like best about the product?
This database allow us to interface the databases in a nice GUI that will interact with the database inside.
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI was a little slow and took a long time to run script to generate data.

This allow us to connect to a e2 database instance provided and managed by amazon

Required a bit of learning to adjust and its always good to include that in your timeline

Great relational database
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and is very performant. Postgres search functionality is also great. BSON is a welcome addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation not always easy to follow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining tables for different models (ie users, posts etc) and managing the relations between them. Makes analysing and storing data much easier.
